I can too but there seems to have been a massive over reaction from some (not necessarily on SC). Its. just on the back of the shit transfer window a lot of people are wanting to put the boot in.

Yes totally agree. Since the summer, the actions - or lack of - of the club have resulted in what is now a negative atmosphere with it's fans. They have completely messed up and there is no goodwill so of course everyone wants to put the boot in.

I am upset that stadium is not going to be ready for a while but no way am I angry about it, shit happens with constructions of this size and timeframe. I was extremely pissed off however with the transfer window and this news on top of that has been the major reason for the backlash from the majority.

I do wonder if he can see why people are pissed off with the club currently.

Of course he can, won't be for long though, despite the last few weeks things are generally positive for us, we'll move into the stadium at some point, CL football, players returning from injury and getting fitter, we're actually in a good place. Won't be long until people forget about this, this is the way things work.

As already reported Mace stipulated a no-liability clause for delays given the ridiculously tight schedule. No sensible company would on a multi year, £400m+ build.

We, the fans, pushed hard for 1 season at Wembley instead of 2. We knew this was a possibility. Anyone that did, has no right to bitch that the project runs over a few weeks.

The club would have saved a fortune if they had just agreed 2 sessions at Wembley, but that's not we, the fans and THST, pushed for.

If you honestly think the club pinpointed the fans as the reason they wanted to get back to Tottenham sooner rather than later you are completely wrong. They didn't listen to us regarding the premium seats in the SS, and they wouldn't have paid all of those extra workers on site what they have done just because the fans wanted to be home. If you think that you're a Daniel Levy wet dream

It's always worth keeping an eye on the trade press at times like these. The Construction Index, Construction News, Building.co.uk and Construction Manager have all gone to MACE for a reactive line, and in some instances MACE have given them one. Broadly in line with the Tottenham statement, but stressing that safety is their biggest concern.

Interesting how the headline on at least one story in the trade press is on MACE missing stadium deadline.

The club should be ashamed of themselves. They knew this all along. How could they not? There's been no reason for a delay for about 3 months and they've got people working 16hr shifts, 24/7. It's going to be amazing but once again they've mugged everyone off, as fucking per.

The only surprise is that we're surprised
You know by now that you are spouting crap dont you?

Where is the Cockerel going to be situated at the new stadium?

When I look at the stadium live cam-6, it looks like there is room on the east-side roof.

Rumoured to be at the end of the skywalk overlooking the pitch from the South Stand

Save the rushing about and uncertainty. Do what you always said you wouldn't and take up the 2nd year option for Wembley.

Get the stadium 100% finished and start again fresh next season after a summer of actually investing in the squad. Much better than slipping in half way through and using a partially built ground.

It only takes a quick read through the club statement to see that this is absolute horseshit. The overall build has been progressing fine. It would have been ready to use, though unfinished, by 15 Sept.

The problem is that some of the essential safety measures have failed their tests and they're going to have to redo a lot of work, which has led to the cancellation of the essential test events. It's impossible to get the approval signed off in time for the scheduled start.

Not that the whole build is months late. There's zero reason to assume that, especially given the suddenness of the discovery and announcement of the safety problem.

Would be interesting to see what the clauses for late delivery are with Mace.
My guess is there aren't, they were probably bonuses on completion on the target date rather than fines due to late completion.

They were on both, I'm pretty sure. That's how construction-management procurement generally works.

But there's what it says in the contract and then there's what finally gets settled after a lengthy, tedious negotiation. Most damages for late completion end up as a commercial settlement.

Mace will seek to pass on whatever they lose to the subcontractor whose work is at fault here. That would also be normal. And it would also usually end in a commercial settlement. The case-law on liquidated damages is a contradictory mess. There is plenty of scope for squirming out from under liability and blowing smoke.

We don't know exactly which system has failed its tests, so we don't know which subcontractor is involved, but Mace won't just soak up the pain, they'll get their lawyers onto this. It will run on for months, probably years.

I know we tend to go overboard at the best of times but honestly the fucking conspiracy theories going here would make Alex Jones blush.

The club set a very tight deadline. Someone installing one of the safety systems screwed up. There will be a delay in fixing it of a few weeks. That's it. It's a £400m+ building project for fuck's sake. That's what happens.

All you who think this was secretly Levy's plan all along to have 2 seasons away and deceive us into buying season tickets at NWHL need professional help.

I'm done. You're all too fucking much.

The outside of the stadium and the inside of the bowl is never going to be "done" by the 15th, regardless of the safety system issue. They're plodding along at such a snails pace it's clearly not being given priority for weeks.
The excuse today is deliberately vague. We may never know what has actually happened.

Just keep us updated, perhaps weekly, rather than letting it get to the stage where the Sun is first to report something rather than the club.

If that is the case then we should see all other aspects plod along. I would expect grass, veil, paving outside all to be very progressed in the next 2 weeks.
I'd bet a nut they won't be.

Proof of my what, mate?
I meant to delete your quote and not post it but I was referring to your absurd conspiracy theories
People are actually buying the safety system issue and this was all a sudden thing? Seriously? That’s clearly a bullshit excuse for the club failing to be up front with the fans. We’ve gotten smoke out from people who have worked on the site for months that the stadium will not be ready in the clubs time frame and it was looking like November. Not only that, but all anyone has to do is take a look at the pictures that are continuously popping up. There’s a safety issue. But its got nothing to do with a system and more to do with the fact its clearly a building site and the club doesnt want anyone falling through the large glassless area of the facade or touching anything else on match days.

Don't bother replying, I honestly don't care.
