It would be very odd if we followed CL rules re home fixtures, but didn't follow the same PL rules.

the premier league made a change on this occasion, and will be something that will always be allowed/considered now due to eventually other clubs might require it if ever they build a new stadium and it goes wrong. they most probably changed it with the thought that 1 of their favourite clubs might need help when they finally get round to building their stadium

The outside of the stadium and the inside of the bowl is never going to be "done" by the 15th, regardless of the safety system issue. They're plodding along at such a snails pace it's clearly not being given priority for weeks.
The excuse today is deliberately vague. We may never know what has actually happened.

Just keep us updated, perhaps weekly, rather than letting it get to the stage where the Sun is first to report something rather than the club.

I’ve heard it’s a fire alarm/evacuation issue which is likely to only arise during testing.
Nothing to do with how the stadium ‘looks’.

I honestly don’t think the club would’ve announced the Liverpool game and, much more importantly for us commercially, the NFL game if they knew this was coming, likely or even possible.

Everyone’s frustrated but everyone also has to take a step back & realise this was always a possibility; is re-scheduling 3 league matches out of 18 the worst case scenario??

I don't know much about builds etc but surely there'd be enough time to fix a fire alarm issue if this is the case. Really makes you wonder what the problem is

No. The worst case scenario would been if they'd had to re-schedule three league matches, begin a partnership with the world's biggest sports league by cancelling on a promise to host them at a time where we're desperately hoping they'll trust us with a whole damn franchise, ask to be drawn away in cup competitions, be in the Champions League three times in a row without managing a single match in Tottenham, put out huge adverts as the only place in London to watch it before having to go back on that, cancel on hugely wealthy, influential and impatient corporate and commercial partners, fail to seal a naming rights deal because of all that, fail to invest in the squad because they didn't have the naming rights money, risk missing out on on a top-4 place because of that, and top it all off by charging supporters an extra 40% this year for the omnishambles and destroy any goodwill or loyalty they had. Lucky that never happened huh?

Jeez. Honestly can’t read that on my phone. I’ve tried twice.

Like quite a few on here , I've been all over the country watching Spurs. I'd watch em on Hackney Marshes if I had to. Watching our team play a few more games in the national stadium isn't the end of the world.

A little later than planned we will be watching our team in one of the best club stadiums in Europe, I'm still excited about that prospect.

Let's ditch the negativity and get behind the team.

What makes the club think they can give us our money back monthly? If they are refunding £x I want that in one lump sum, not drip fed back.

trouble is there might be a much bigger portion of people that are paying them via DD. they have to look at it in a sense that if people where refund 3 games all in 1 hit, and then just say a big number decided they couldn't be bothered and cancelled their DD (possible if pissed off because of this, transfer window, personal changes, or if we have a shit period on the pitch) they could be hit big time.

on the website it never mentioned anything about a free ticket to the cancelled matches now being at Wembley

I understand that fans are pissed off about not being able to watch these games at NWHL. However, all this bitching and moaning about refunds is a bit rich after much of the same about the ticket price increases.

It backs-up Levy's explanation that the new stadium will be vastly improved in every way to the old stadium and therefore the ticket prices deserve to be increased. These fans that are moaning at both the ST increases and wanting a total refund for the games moved to Wembley are clearly agreeing (even if they don't realise) that the stadium at which our games will be played is a key element of the 'product' being paid-for.

Now I sympathise with those that have been priced-out because they can't afford the prices (me included by the way), but this double-standard moaning is nonsense.
I don’t understand this argument. Are we paying to watch games or subscribing to the club? If we’re being charged significantly more to watch games in a vastly superior stadium, and said stadium is not ready, we shouldn’t then expect to be refunded?

What planet is it that you’re on?

The fire alarm systems in a building of this size and nature is a very intricate and complex entity. It will be controlled by myriad computers and will likely be more than just one system. I'm sure it will have built in safety checks and redundances so that one small fault doesn't trigger all the fire sprinklers in the stadium. To troubleshoot and manage the repair is slightly more than a simple fix. Once it's repaired all the systems have to be retested to ensure that they work as designed, and also that they communicate correctly with all the other systems that are integrated/reliant on it.

Don't you think earning a living is far more important to them? Why would they jeopardise that when most will have families to provide for?

well the Spam lad didn't give a shit when he got sacked for painting the irons logo, and with so many working on each project, no 1 will know if the fault was caused by someone at what stage and by who

I agree with your sentiments. Dougal said he’s been to 40 grounds and when I’ve totalled them up, mine have been to close to 60.

But, my whole beef with Spurs is the club’s honesty with the fans, the openness and the fact we’re seemingly all being taken as given. I don’t give a monkey’s if we don’t play our first game until Xmas, but don’t please take my dedication and love for granted. And I have this feeling we’re just being milked - not a nice feeling tbh.

*I have had a ST for 30+ years I reckon.

This. The only thing that gets me about Wembley is the red empty seats when our fans can't be bothered. But all I can do is drag my son and my own ass over there.

I'm one of DLs biggest critics, and agree he needs to produce some goodwill out of the hat after the ticket pricing and barren window disappointments- but I'm not going to pan him for this delay. It took him nearly 20 years to get the project so close, now is not the time to pass recriminations.

I think all this bitching and moaning is down to multiple things. Mostly down the lack of transparency the club have given in regards to the delay. Most, if not everyone would have understood if they told us weeks ago there was going to be a delay, apologised and offered us a refund on missed matches, but instead they told us with a month to go. People have paid for hotels, flights and whatever else to get down here for the match and will not be refunded. This is on top of a disappointing week in regards to incomings, in which we still haven't got a proper explanation.

they never knew last week, they had to approach the FA, and whoever, the FA leaked it to the Sun, who printed it yesterday, they might of delayed it a day if the report hadn't come out.

you guys just made me trip down memory lane- I think (getting old!) I'm just under 40 grounds, although just over if I can include friendlies in the Far East.

here we go again:LOL:

that 40% increase, is that the overall, or your ticket (or what it would of cost in the old lane)?
