Lol eSports require an expensive retractable pitch?

Well, literally yes? You've answered your own question. They don't set the stages up on grass, do they? They need an artificial surface to build it all on.

Did he get the tin-tack? Excellent if true.

I'm sure it was posted in one of the last 100-150 pages that he got sacked, I wonder what his job was, hopefully a painter and nothing to do with fitting the failed system.

at the end of the day, it's either Mace that have fucked up, or the company that made the parts. the only thing the club are guilty of is not announcing it earlier than the Sun paper, though if they had to deal with all the companies and organisations 1st then the paper had the head start. Yes a sorry wouldn't of gone a miss, and not excusable.

I've been seeing this a lot, and I don't think it's quite right.

The news that the Sun hack 'broke' yesterday was that the club had taken up its option to possibly use Wembley for more games. Taking up the option was something that the club did some time ago - 'just in case' - so it wasn't new information, it was just that he had got hold of it yesterday. His main point was that it had cost a 'considerable' amount to take up the option, not that the stadium opening was delayed and fixtures had to be rearranged.

It was only later editions of his report that included the club's announcement that this option now has to be exercised. So the Sun didn't break the story; the club announced it. The reporter just got lucky with his timing when he reported old news hours before the club was told by Mace that the stadium wouldn't be ready. He then incorporated that development into his report.

@Saoirse just a simple enquiry how much dearer are we to the next dearest team?

also please consider that teams in the northern region most probably charge a lot less, because incomes in their areas are a lot less than what someone working in London can earn. Also remember we do have to pay it off some time in the future.

There seems to be a lot of unrest in so many threads at the moment which hasn't been helped by the ticket pricing, no transfer activity, and now this. Okay I might come over to positive, and perhaps if any of you knew me personally you might understand why, but you really all need to chill and enjoy what life gives you, and what hopefully your main hobby Spurs might bring you.

Well, that's one way to prove your insecurity to everyone in the league.

Some things you are allowed to think but not say, as you will have to pay with your manhood.

I'm not saying you're wrong with going past new year we would have to stay at Wembley, but I doubt any of the clubs would say something like that as it'd be incredibly sad and funny in the wrong way. At the end of the day all you have to do is play better football than the other team and that's what the sport is about, not where the pitch is located. Let's hope they are better than the kid who whenever another class could go home early had waste everyone's time by arguing with the teacher about how it isn't fair.

The argument would seem even pettier if we in turn point out that we're the only team who hasn't been allowed to play at home once in two seasons.

Let’s be honest mourinho says something sad and funny every week. And Klopps not far behind.

I was having a conversation today with a dad at my sons football team, he works at the factory that makes the goal posts which is near where I live, and he was saying that the NFL goals were also returned recently as the paint wasn’t allowed to dry properly and when they went to install them at the lane the protective paper wrapping just stuck to the posts, the same with the ground fittings. They are now being made again from scratch, not the clubs fault but just another thing rushed by the sound of it and now delaying our homecoming.
There’s a lot of things that are being rushed, I’ve seen some of this first hand. But if the club as a whole knew about this last week then I would be very surprised given some of the things I know they’ve been requesting during the last week or so.

It might be that a few people at the club were aware, but the majority most certainly were not and personally I think it was just some really shit timing that has made this look worse.

If we’d signed Grealish on deadline day this would seem different I think to a lot of fans.

I’ve heard it’s a fire alarm/evacuation issue which is likely to only arise during testing.
Nothing to do with how the stadium ‘looks’.

I honestly don’t think the club would’ve announced the Liverpool game and, much more importantly for us commercially, the NFL game if they knew this was coming, likely or even possible.

Everyone’s frustrated but everyone also has to take a step back & realise this was always a possibility; is re-scheduling 3 league matches out of 18 the worst case scenario??
Currently that is the best case scenario. I know I wouldn’t bet any money on that being all we have at Wembley

As frustrating as it is we will have to swallow as supporters and if it means we end up playing additional games at wembley then we have no choice. However if they try to raise Season Ticket prices next year having not had a full season in the new stadium i will be royally F'd off.

So the Premier League have blocked us from moving the Man City game

This must pretty much guarantee that this will be our first game at the NWHL

they never knew last week, they had to approach the FA, and whoever, the FA leaked it to the Sun, who printed it yesterday, they might of delayed it a day if the report hadn't come out.
I don't believe that for one second, they had a test event. If safety features weren't tested then, what was the point?

well then lets end the discussion there then, as you know what happened. all I will say if it was picked up then I can most probably say for certain something would of come out in the press that week. not every single person in the stadium that day would of been Spurs supporters, there where still builders on site, and someone would of leaked it.

Not if the ground's still not ready it won't be.
Bloody hope it isn't as well. Big fat tonking by City at NWHL would be a shit coronation for the stadium. Southampton much better.

The alternative is potentially worse if we can't fulfil the fixture though!

Such a bullshit rule. What happens when a pitch is waterlogged and unplayable? What happens when a team gets to a semi final of a cup? What about arsenal cancelling Boxing Day fixtures because of public transport issues? Fixtures get moved to accommodate them without having points docked so can’t see any reason why this wouldn’t be the case here?

Not having a go at you by the way, just making a point.

I think they've blocked us moving the match to Manchester as an away game or to another venue aside of Wembley or NWHL. The match can be rearranged to a different date subject to agreement from the clubs, sky and PL.
