Interesting comment: All the works are behind inside the stadium. Daniel Levy gave the contract to his brother-in-law for all the interior work (Base) that’s what I was told by people inside the stadium. Mace got the exterior and supposedly ain’t that far from completion.

I actually dont mind us facing City in our first game. It's probably our best chance of beating them. The place will be absolutely buzzing. The more we're kept waiting the higher the anticipation will build before we finally move in. What I'm most interested in is how compact the pitch will feel, from the pics it's looking like it will be but hard to tell until the lines of the pitch are out with a full crowd around it. If we can recreate that smothering of our opponents like we did at WHL we can beat anybody there. A repeat of our 16/17 performance over them would be ideal.

In terms of the Champions League it's hard to see us not playing at Wembley. It will be interesting to see if we get the full capacity there though.
We will not be playing City in the first game. Highly unlikely the stadium will be ready by then.

Just looking at the exterior pictures, it is far from completion.

Do you have anything to back this up, or perhaps just a moment of clairvoyance? Given that the city game is a whole 6 weeks after the Liverpool game i'd have actually thought it was quite likely that this should be enough time to fix whatever has caused the delay, while also giving the club enough time to hopefully get the stadium as polished as possible before opening.

For every comment like this there’s another on SSC ( which tbh sounds much more informed) saying we are aiming for city and Chelsea. I’ve given up hoping or guessing it’s pointless. It will be ready when it’s ready. Right now I’m expecting another season at Wembley anything else will be a bonus.

Can you let Daniel Levy know then so they can announce it please

It isn't about being complete, it's about being ready for football. There will be plenty more to complete beyond this year. There's a big difference between being ready and being complete. It should be ready for the Man City game provided no further issues come up.

Manchester City is two and a half months away we've got to think that is enough time haven't we?

It will be like the O2 arena, the stadium will be ready, the food courts etc and most importantly the cheese room. So the events still can take place. But there will still be areas outside of that being worked on into the new year. I certainly wouldn't expect any stadium tours this season.

I was on site last week and witnessed a loop being witnessed.
They are at the point where they can offer halfish of the loops (c. 70 of 140) to the commissioning manager to witness (i.e. they say they have tested themselves). The commissioning manager (who as it's life safety has to witness 100% of the loops) sign off sheets would then be part of the pack submitted to the BCO for sign off, along with Tyco's own certificate that it's in line with the BS. The BCO can then choose how much he wants to witness before signing the fire systems off as safe, largely depending on the quality of install and testing he's seen to date.
The BCO's visit the friday before last was enough of a shambles to result in them saying we're not coming back until we've got 100% of the certs from the commissioning manager (which isn't unusual). However the backs are so against the wall at the stadium that when you string this 'back to backing' of programming activities out i.e. Tyco having to prove and document that they are fully done first, then Core witnessing the lot before the BCO will even look at it, then the final test events having to be after this sign off, plus the realisation of how far back Tyco really are it's become clear that mid September is pie in the sky...as many had suspected.
Stolen from ph0n1k on SSC.

Basically, as I understand, it says half the fire systems are just not installed.
The building control officer got the hump over something and has demanded all systems are installed and tested before he next returns and this has caused the test events to be rescheduled and in turn the prem games moved.

I like this nugget of info, as it knits with the idea that the only problem with the fire systems are they are just not installed yet.

It slightly undermines the idea that the LFC game was always getting moved to Wembley, which I still subscribe to, but you can't have everything.

Complete rubbish. Base are doing the Paxton building (ticket office) and the interior of the shop/experience only.
Mace are doing the stadium. Base aren't involved in that at all.

I honestly don't mind, at all. I'd rather it be done properly. Why are people so stressed over this? It's going to be our home for the next 100 years. It's going to be the best stadium in Europe. You pay your season tickets to watch Tottenham Hotspur, not the stadium. Please, can we all just stop looking for things to moan about.

And it's not an embarrassment on THFC, we're not the contractors. We can only put out in the public what we're told by the 'experts'. If anything, we should be proud how hard we have pushed to try to get it done on time. We have done EVERYTHING we can do. Give the club a break.
