Not part of it anymore left a few weeks back.
Was great to see and play a very small part in the stadium but it’s not the nicest atmosphere to work in and glad I’m not still there to be honest
Shame you're not there as we'd know what was problem lol.
Sure we'll find out eventually.

I do agree with you in general but the way you have worded it I wasn’t sure you knew how these sort of systems work??

The bit I said was not true was regarding your point about cabling faults and you not taking damages to cables as an option as it is the most likely reason for there being wiring faults
I was shit faced when posting last night to be fair :ROFLMAO:

Though I have not worked on the stadium, I am a spark. FP200 through conduit!? That would have been a pig to put in. Also somewhat pointless. Power supplies for fire alarms need extra protection because they need to still work when the place is on fire, at least for as long as possible. Consequently FP200 is used, normally red FP200. FP200 has an inner metal sheath underneath the red pvc which gives it added protection. It in't tough steel, or the steel wire used in steel wire armoured cable, and its easy to bend and tear...but not easy enough for conduit! We normally put it in trays or metal P-clips on a wall, because metal P-clips are fire rated. Why would you need to use FP200 if you are putting it in (presumably black japanned or galvanised) conduit? The conduit offers way more protection than the FP200's metal inner sheath and you can't see the red pvc outer sheath if it is in conduit! Why not use ordinary singles?

I agree with Dondo: design fault.

Watching the game last night and in the post match bit on sky they were showing the interior of old Trafford. It looked so old, dated and tired. Mad to think we will have a better stadium than the supposed biggest club in the world when ours is finished.

Never been to OT myself but heard it’s in an incredibly poor state and in desperate need of refurbishment.

I went 22 years ago for Italy v Germany group game. I was 9 years old.

Some guy next to me kept talking about Kuntz being a ****.

I had never heard that word before so it was very educational.

Haven't been to OT for a few years but it was a big soulless block of concrete as far as the interior was concerned. And I've been in 3 ends of it, not just the away end which you may expect to be a bit less fancy. The fact that we are giving the away fans the full experience too at the New Ground puts us on a different level off the pitch to United. And now we're on a different level on the pitch too. Which is nice.

Reading all the conflicting comments, my sense is that the accurate version is: it's a long way from being "finished", as there are multiple operations, primarily exterior and cosmetic in nature, that are uncompleted, but the only thing that's preventing it from being "ready for a football match" is the problems with the fire alarm system.

One thing to bear in mind in all this is that there are things related to the stadium which you wouldn't necessarily class as "construction" and would not be visible by walking around the stadium that will impact whether or not it can be opened,

I went yesterday and other than its size, it's not a great stadium- in terms of screen, scoreboard, leg space and amenities it's poor.

yep...and a better manager, and a better captain, and the defence. Oh and also a better midfield. I could go on.

Only been to OT once, for the 2-3 game in 2012. It's bog standard, just very big. The fact that we took the lead and were defending a lead for long periods added to the atmosphere though. It's pretty intimidating when the crowd are actually getting behind them. Most stadiums are nothing special in terms of materials or design - some just have an atmosphere around them that comes from the crowd. We could have a stunning stadium but won't mean much if the fans don't make it special.

Just spoke to a mate of mine who is a sparks. I jokingly asked him why he wasnt at the stadium earing a fortune. He said he was told it is absolute chaos down there. too many people on site as others have said He also said another sparks he knew had been working there and hadnt been paid so went round cutting all his wiring work out. Which if its true is a scandal. I know Spurs wont pay directly and i didnt probe any further as to who he was working for. But if someone has come in and undone all their work for not being paid. someone needs firing.

Don't disbelieve you but if an electrician hasn't been paid and is removing the cables he's installed he's never going to get paid for the work he's done.

He must have believed he was never going to get paid, that's quite a desperate situation to be in.
