Oh bless, another geezer who works on the site and knows everything about the programme, told his mate who told us.

I refer you to my previous post on the topic, about a week ago, which had rather more to say than "bollocks".

At the end of the day none of us know, most probably only a handful of people know or actually have a very good idea. I have had a second person tell me today that overtime and weekends has been stopped. IMO one of 2 things is happening. They have caught up and believe they are on schedule or its been put back to save money as their is no point in flogging a dead horse. From what you hear and there is no smoke without fire that its not going to be ready. I have not said completed but not ready for use and I think once we go past a point the FA are going to say you need to stay at Wembley

I was thinking possible inducted interference but thought where from.
Parallel earths causes that yeah?
I've never actually installed a fire alarm system but worked on a few. I'm a refrigeration engineer first and foremost but got C&G electrical 1&2, C course and 2391 plus after 30years I have a fairly good understanding lol.
Get that earthing the shielding at both ends issue in my trade every now and then, on AC mostly.
Fire alarm loops are essentially network circuits, so are prone to interference. As for where the interference comes from, it can come from nearby high power cables, so there should be as much segregation as possible (I can't remember the exact figures tbh).

I've only dealt with these issues when sorting out problems on systems fitted by other people, & the majority of the times it's when they've connected the earth's to the building earth at multiple points. It's easy to fix, but just can take a lot of time to track down.

I've just got a C&G 224 Electrical & electronic servicing, I normally still have clean hands when I get home ?

Hi everyone, I am one who doesnt post a lot but received this whats app message today and videos from my mate who is working at the ground. He is doing a specialist job there which includes all the changing rooms, medical rooms etc. He says he has at least 3 months work for himself.

This is what he sent

Working back at spurs to. Been told no games to be played here this season.
( unofficially) but they have stopped all weekend work and night work. ?

Just hope he is wrong. He says nearly all the public areas are done, kiosks, dining, bars etc but in his words its the guts of the stadium that need finishing.

Can anyone else comment if night and weekend work has stopped?

Just drove passed the stadium and I can see people working, it appeared from the cams that stuff like the roof had been completed overnight also!

I think the thing that often gets lost by the workers - the stadium does not need to be "complete" to get a safety certificate to allow Spurs to host matches.

So, a lot of the real interior stuff can be worked on, even after the stadium is open - particularly things outside the view of most fans - like the NFL areas, or even some of the football areas under the stadium.

If the problem is solely sorting out the fire / evacuation system, how long can that realistically take?

Even in the worst case scenario of ripping the entire thing out and starting again, could that feasibly take until next August, as is being suggested?

CL fixtures were issued with TBD for Spurs 2nd and 3rd home matches. If Spurs really thought this was going to take until next August - they would have simply scheduled the matches for Wembley.

That tells me that Spurs have some expectation that the stadium can be ready in November.

It might not be ready - but Spurs are thinking its close enough to wait before announcing a stadium.

So do I.

I wear gloves lol.

Seriously though I only do fault finding/repair now. Installations is a young mans game.
I know you can get it from high power cables but as you said I would have hoped they had kept them seperate. Might be rewiring if they haven't but surely they had a manager/supervisor on site monitoring work.

Off topic but I once had a job on a Hitachi 3ph AC vrv unit at Norwich FC when the Barclays stand was being extended years back.
We had never used Hitachi before and had a commissioning engineer from Hitachi come to site. This fkin thing showed no fault on the self diagnostics (which were extensive btw), showed 415 between phases and 240v on each phase to neutral and earth but the fkin thing just would not run. He replaced mother board but still nothing. By lunch he was getting fked off and went for lunch. I was still there scratching my head and thought 'right, lets look at this logically. Start from scratch in the DB.' Took cover off. Found dipshits hadn't connected the neutral!!! Somehow it had enough inducted interference to show power supply was correct on my meter.
By the time he got back I had it running.
Your welcome Mr Hitach man :)
Btw Delia threw a party on site for all the contractors after completion which was good of her and she was there.
I imagine Levy will do the same except Fire alarm guys wont get an invite lol.

I think that’s why they are holding out on announcing city. They must still think there’s some hope of it being ready. I think new year would the cut off imo and then they would just say whole season Wembley.

Well if the roofs finished we must be close well that’s what my mate reckoned anyway because now it’s done we have to start paying business rates.

After the cassettes and the glass panels on the inside of the roof, there is some form of covering to go on top. If you look at the latest arial video, you can see a gap between the glass elevated panels and the inner lower panels. Hence the need for the covering, but I have no idea what it is or how long it should take.
