Leg room actually looks crazy. Hope it doesn’t make it to sterile and detract from atmosphere.

Damn. Hope that doesnt mean my 74yr old Dad no longer has to get up and down because every 30 secs some lightweights need to take a piss.
He loves that. Keeps him active :ROFLMAO:

The legroom does look great - beats having the fucking seat in front dig into my knees. Would have liked cup holders - its always good to have in my view

One thing im curious about is the gap between the glass roof and the steel roof - are they like filling it or is the glass roof at such an angle that the water will drip away onto the steel roof which will run off (somewhere)?

No, there is supposed to be some kind of top cover to go on. I'm not sure what is made of, some from of industrial grade sheeting, I would guess.

Edit, that cover may only be to bridge the glass roof and the steel roof, thereby eliminating the gap.

After the cassettes and the glass panels on the inside of the roof, there is some form of covering to go on top. If you look at the latest arial video, you can see a gap between the glass elevated panels and the inner lower panels. Hence the need for the covering, but I have no idea what it is or how long it should take.

@Elliot You are, obviously, entitled to disagree with this, after all, I may well be wrong. But please do enlighten me if I am.

Cheers man... I'd be intrigued to see what they do.

Just saw Liverpool put in a proposal to play big sporting events in the summer and pop concerts. 10 concerts I presume 5 or 6 sporting to take them to same as us about 16. Council turned them down ? when they were almost certain it would be passed. Sounds like a desperate attempt to keep pace with us. Wonder if they’d factored that into their summer spend as they thought would be passed for next summer.

My understanding is that there isn't a top cover to go over the whole roof (it's not needed). And it may be that what is going between the glass and the cassettes is already there. Zoom in on the far roof on the fourth/last of the latest spurs official twitter photos. And look at Mr AV's recent videos, as they've done something in the gap over almost the entire stadium (the dark grey squares stuck on the cassettes etc). Would seem very odd to do all that and then go round again to add something to close the gap entirely.

OK, fair enough.

Sadly those of us in more rural communities don't have the advantage of sufficient internet speeds, or time during the day to be able to look at the cameras long enough to see that. So we have to guess what's going on.

I appreciate your input, you really should get more involved in this great forum.

If you look back through the thread you'll see I posted some sections of the roof, one at the eaves one at the junction between rows of cassettes and one at the junction between the cassettes and glass roof. The cassettes are already covered in a single ply membrane. Nothing will go on top of this. There's a detail linking the two roofs, basically a flexible piece of single ply from an upstand to take in to account movement between the two. And to stop water coming between the two. Although I wouldn't see that as being an issue anyway.

This is what I was trying to describe with my edit of one of the posts, and I seem to recall that it will fill in the gap between the two roof sections, so those underneath won't get wet from rain driving through any of the gaps. I also agree that it is not an issue, I was just replying to the point @JCRD made about the said gap.

There has to be one last laminate layer - displaying the naming rights logo and corporate message!

I'd argue the stadium is designed to be viewed from above and why that drone has had permission to regularly buzz around the stadium from the start.

I've long wondered what exactly a naming rights sponsor gets for their £200m. The name that gets shown repeatedly in the media is the shirt sponsor. The fans will call it WHL regardless. Gary Lineker might say 'now over to the xx stadium' every week, but that's it really. And the NFL franchise might never happen.

Who exactly are the target for the naming rights sponsor? I think it is corporate frequent flyers.
At night the stadium will be lit up like a xmas tree.
And that final floodlit layer of laminate is what holds the whole project together.

Erm, no, there won't be another layer of single ply a across the whole roof, you don't layer single ply. I should imagine the logos will just be adhered to the single ply.

Spoke to my friend who's been heavily involved in the new build since the begining yesterday. He's finished up there now said his bits are all completed, but he did say all overtime has been stopped & he can't see us playing there this year. don't shot me but felt I should share.
