Spoke to my friend who's been heavily involved in the new build since the begining yesterday. He's finished up there now said his bits are all completed, but he did say all overtime has been stopped & he can't see us playing there this year. don't shot me but felt I should share.

I heard very similar yesterday, a friend of mine knows someone working on the site and he has been told there's no more overtime.

He didn't say anything in terms of timeline though.

don't think we need to read too much into the overtime thing. Makes perfect sense actually. When we were aiming for 15 September, there would have been a thousand things that needed completing by that date.

While they are fixing the safety issue, which by all accounts will take approx 8 weeks at least - those thousands things still need doing obviously but given the extra time afforded by the safety screw up can now be completed without the need for lots of overtime.

No overtime actually fits with the wiring issue if the overtime was being given to get the other jobs done for Liverpool there's probably no need for it now unless the wiring is finished as they have longer to complete the other parts of the build than initially thought. I have noticed cosmetic things are starting to happen on the exterior again which wouldn't be happening if there were functional things that could be done.

By what accounts? I haven't seen anything specifying (from any official lines) what the problem is or was.

It says there’s a possibility of it being ready for the City game but then we’re playing CL games at Wembley a month later.

So it’s not going to be ready until the new year then...

Rubbish gesture yet again, making it a Cat B fixture to STH when we're already losing out due to two games missed being Cat A. And I'd bet money on all 3 CL games being Cat A too.

What cost would it be to the club to give something genuine like Cat C prices to all of these to actually get fans back onside after this debacle. Feel sorry for the travelling Man City fans too, probably made arrangements ages ago. Travelling down from Manchester on a Monday is going to be a hell of a lot more difficult than on a Sunday and by the looks of it we aren't even attempting to compensate them. We are really starting to take the piss a bit with this situation

Nope. Just that UEFA would need confirmation now of where we'll play matches - they'll start sorting corporate packages and the like. If we were to tell them WHL will be ready and it isn't we could be forced to forfeit the tie, so we can't take the risk if we're not sure.

Two possibilities:
a) Stadium won't be ready until 2019
b) UEFA Rules are one stadium and one stadium only, so even if it was ready by November they wouldn't let us play there

What doesn't read well?
Aren't the group stage matches because they have to be played at the same stadium?
We must have agreed with UEFA that we can play in two stadiums because we announced the first game would be at Wembley and potentially other two at the new stadium

Or we were hoping we could do that but weren't allowed.

It's quite a good gesture because it's 17-18 Cat B prices. Remember that 1/19th of your ST is nearly as much as a Cat A game last season and way more than a Cat B - ST holders will save a substantial amount of money due to this. Once we're moved in members prices will go up 30-40% to match the ST increase.

It says it's to give certainty. (CL games)

We'll have fans from abroad travelling for the matches and they're right, it's not fair expecting them to arrange travel and accommodation for a fixture that could change.

That makes sense, even if we are confident UEFA can't really just take our word for it.

Am I the only one that thinks we should draw a line under this stadium business and just announce that we will move in for 19/20 season. That way we can focus on our season without this continuously hanging over our heads and also would ensure the stadium is 100% complete safely and aesthetically.

It was ambitious and the club should be commended for trying to deliver on an ambitious deadline.
