Also have a mate who knows the guy who has been given the contract to do the flooring in the stadium and corp boxes. he (pinch of salt) said that he was working in Levys box in the stadium when the news dropped it wouldnt be ready and said the reason for the delay is the fire proof cabling they were supposed to put in wasnt fire proof. they just used normal cable. so the whole lot has to be ripped out and replaced. He said the bald one was normally quite approachable and chatty but he didnt dare speak to him for 3 days after it as he looked like he wnated to kill.

obviously this isnt earth shattering. But news is news.

New North Stand Cam right now. Most half-hearted sweeping you will ever see. Put your back into it you lazy bastards. You're right in front of the camera!

as has been stated a few times by the club we have an agreement with three banks for a total borrowing of 400m. Do we assume that that will be the debt we run with when finished. If so that’s not too bad
I don't know if that's short term development finance or long term funding. The club will run up the gross debt on the short term money higher than it will end up, because once the housing and hotel have been sold and have presumably made a profit, they'll refinance the net debt as long term funding (lower interest rates).

Sounds much like The Royal Liverpool Hospital. Carrillion of course. The Royal (brand spanking new hospital) was supposed to be finished this autumn. Now only gonna be ready in 2020 !! Carrillion. Why ? They put on the wrong cladding (likening Grenfell tower) and have to replace the lot !! Carrillion - are they building the new stadium then? Sounds like.

Really need to start differentiating between done/finished/completed and match ready. Two different timelines.
There may well have been a dual timeline for a September opening, but people were just guessing. And that it is fair enough.

With a Nov/Dec opening, I find it hard to believe that the stadium will not both be a fully functioning complete football stadium, and look the part. I don't buy these March opening rumours and think they have been released to cynically manipulate expectations - what heroes Mace will be when the stadium only opens 4 months late. But it is just opinions and we'll find out soon enough.

I'm really beginning to believe they are holding off on laying the grass so as not to give the game away. There may be something in the idea of managing expectations but my problem with that is that I honestly believe this is affecting our players, it's affecting me, after yesterday's game I was pretty meh. I just feel like we are in limbo and I believe the players are bound to feel the same.

Looking at the cams you can see they are still doing work on the sky lounge. There is a lot of equipment and temporary flooring in the way, so not sure what the point would be to lay 2/3rds of a pitch now.

Doubtful. Sprinklers are more an insurance requirement.

There is no statutory requirement for any commercial building in the UK to have a sprinkler system installed (at the moment).

Therefore their operational status at NWHL would not be conditional on the stadium opening. That being said, sprinklers are on occasions used as a compensatory solution where the requirements of Approved Document B are not met. For example an extended travel distance or an unprotected means of escape.

In summary unless the sprinkler system is critical to the buildings fire safety strategy (as an approved compensatory solution) it would not need to be functional.

Work on the sky lounge wasn't mentioned as the cause of the delay so presumably had the test events gone well we'd have played at home yesterday and they'd have laid the pitch by now irrespective of sky lounge work which they'd have done another way I'd have thought.
I don't doubt they are taking advantage of the delay and I've posted that before but I just think they could lay the whole pitch if they wanted or needed to.

Stolen from SSC.
OK it is twitter, but this guy backs up his prediction of an opening game of 15th Dec with tech references that a gullible person like me just cannot resist.

So laying the pitch for the test events might be as late as the last week in Nov, if you buy into this narrative.

I'd love to see the pitch installed now, but wouldn't that make it even more frustrating, with everything looking hot to go on the outside, but the insides still a mess?

I sill think it'll be January (12th...United).

But if we can avoid that and open Boxing Day for B'mouth then that'd be ideal, with the Christmas cheer 'n all.

Once we're in the delay will be forgotten and everyone will say the extra wait was worth it.

If we arent able to be in by Jan 1, the league should force us to remain at Wembley. The new year should be the cut off, IMO.
