There's way more than that. They only "finished" the grow lights within the last week so no grass would have been down. There is no ground to walk on outside the majority of the stadium. You can see in the building with the high resolution camera's and most area's look half done.
It's all onions of course, but without the safety system issue, I doubt it would look any more done than it does now.
But that a assumes the growing lights needed to be built before the pitch was down or that we couldn't have had them built in time and I see no reason that should be the case and tidying up outside areas to walk on wouldn't take that long to be safe and functional if not finished.
I appreciate there are things to be done and I am not saying if the test event hadn't pitched up some problems we'd be finished but it is not sensible to say, look the pitch isn't even down so we obviously could never have made the 15th, it's daft to point to a situation based on the new timescales as though that's where we'd be if the timescales hadn't been changed.

They're literally digging the ground up outside the NW steps today. With a digger. It's not just tidying up, there's huge areas where there is no ground, it's just earth.

I know the pitch isn't down, and won't go down till it's a week or 2 before we play there. we all want the new stadium to open, but you really need to be patient(y)

Cheers mate but I am patient its not that I am saying they should get on with it, it's that I don't agree that what we can see is what delayed us and had we got the go ahead for last weekend it wouldn't look like it does now. Some people are saying look, the pitch isn't laid so how could we have played there on Saturday which completely misses the point that following the delay decision we chose to hold off on laying the pitch

I'm sure they wouldn't have dug that up just before a game though, as I've said before I don't doubt it wouldn't be finished but I don't believe where we are now is where we would be had we not had the delay.

They put out a puff piece of a couple getting engaged at the new stadium. Cool, sweet story but the timing is horrendous
There are 2 timelines here remember.
There is the marriage timeline and that could take years.
But that doesn't mean games can't be played well before then.
It is a frustrating time, but I think it is traditional to wait until there is grass on the pitch.

oh ok, just a few of your post lately seems as though your just desperate for the pitch even if things aren't sorted elsewhere

If you honestly expect this did anything to interfere with building a £1 billion stadium, then I feel a little sorry for you.

Maybe these so called tourists are dedicated fans who had booked flights to see Spurs v Liverpool at the new stadium.

Oh c'mon guys, it's common knowledge that the sparkys on site also run the pr department, it's called moonlighting, so if it's means stadium delays then so be it.

Fucking hell man

Yes...of course I know it's not the reason the entire project is delayed. But what kind of PR is this?!? What would you do if one of your employees that you'd given a big project to carry out came to you and said it would be late, and then after it was late and things were going wrong in the business you saw them pissing about at work with something completely irrelevant?

Maybe these so called tourists are dedicated fans who had booked flights to see Spurs v Liverpool at the new stadium.

I thought that at first. But they would definitely have mentioned it if that was the case.

Yeah, if only the link in the tweet had this in it:
Mike Salerno, from New York, has two loves in his life – Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and his long-term girlfriend, Jessica.

He had planned to bring the two together on a special weekend in London by proposing to Jessica at our first game at the new stadium, previously scheduled to be this weekend’s clash with Liverpool.

When the game was moved to Wembley, the Club made arrangements to ensure Mike’s grand plans could proceed.
