“There was a lot of corner-cutting before the delay, but it’s gone the other way now” ???.

I can't imagine any corner cutting was done on the materials, so if any has gone on then it's down to individuals or sub-contractors. There's no way on earth Mace would sneak in some below-par hardware diffent to that quoted for if they were in charge of it, Levy will be wanting receipts for every nut and bolt, so that leads me to assume it's a quality of work thing rather than quality of materials.

With regard to the wiring, i expect debate will rage on as to whose fault that is and it could've been at literally any stage. It's been a long process, will inevitably involve a ton of people and firms and the only option is for THFC to point the finger at Mace and let them figure out who cocked up and where. They can point it at the original designer maybe, the suppliers, sub-contracted electricians, etc.

The last seems most likely, considering the sudden need for a metric-shit-ton of electricians on site a few months back. Suggests they may have shipped out a few less capable individuals and needed to bring in some new talent. I guess we'll have to wait a few games to see if they work out... I wonder if the same person is in charge of our transfer policy? We'll tender for a few huge electrical firms and some top notch professionals, but end up signing on with Honest Kevin's Electrical Fitters.

I bet Sanjeev Katwa is laughing is arse off, rolling around in a big pile of reliable cat5e and cat7 cables.

I was wondering about this wire/cabling issue the other day and thought it might have something to do with the new CPR guidelines that came in to effect in May. Maybe a certain grade of cable was specified but some the wrong type was installed. (CPR for those who don't know looks at the fire characteristics of the cable, it terms of the cable sheath and how it reacts and how quick it burns in a fire etc etc).

...probably nothing to do with that though o_O
As it was designed before this came in it won't apply

From what I read mace are the Construction management firm . THFC have named some nominated contractors for some of the work packages therfor mace wont be liable for any delays . It was a massive project. As for cables being wrong type I find that hard to beleave as no tradesman / woman would run cable knowing its not the correct type. As for testing this would be done before the ceilings went in .all systems are tested and certified before they are allowed to sheet the ceilings . Most of the stadium won't have any ceilings as nowadays architects seem to go for open concerete hallways this helps reduce the fire load in a building and also reduces costs and makes maintenance and any future additions easier. I know a specialist electrical testing company that could help them out if needed.. if any 1 wamts to pass my email onto the powers that be.. I just hope that the contractor doesmt cut corners and sign off works that are substandard just cause they are under pressure to complete.. I would defo get an independent testing company to certify there works .any way good things come to those who wait. It will be home for the future . A top stadium for a top team

Leg room actually looks crazy. Hope it doesn’t make it to sterile and detract from atmosphere.

Just a shame that the PL won't allow standing areas like they have at CELTIC park. They create a great atmosphere and are as safe as you get . I seen that there was a delegation at CELTIC park to look at the set up and consider it for PL clubs. Wpuld defp be a great feature..just ask the GREEN BRIGADE who occupy the area they create the buzzz around Celtic park

I imagine we were getting updates before but probably when Mace said they were ready. I read that line as the club saying that we have now set when the updates come to ensure we are on track.

It is so rare that you see statements this direct - it suggests that the relationship between the club and Mace is extremely poor at the moment.
I always feel that when there becomes this much tension between client and contractor there is often more issues. As the blame game begins and people start to leave.. often the wrong people. And it's at the final curling that these people who know the project inside out are needed. This will no dought be dragged through the courts for years.

Yeah that's what I figured, and they are perfectly correct, but I am getting desperate to see the pitch laid.

In which case wouldn't they have finished them a week or two ago and if that is the case I don't understand why they are delaying their installation by what may be up to a month, they are not dependant on anything else surely.
Might be something to do with the roof. Eg access to roof sections might be restricted by lighting gantries just a guess

The new Lane is set up in certain sections to do this once it’s legal.

Any idea chaps when the new Spurs Shop will open. I've booked my flight for the Cardiff match and whilst I will have to make do with Wembley for the match I was hoping the new shop might be up and running by then.

From a financial point of view on the face of it, moving in part way through the season if it's December or later would appear to be an advantage as opposed to remaining at Wembley.

I don't however fully buy into the idea that it makes obvious sense from a results on the pitch point of view , and I don't see how the likes of other teams can complain that they will be at a disadvantage compared to the teams we would have played at Wembley earlier. Fulham won't be complaining that way will they.

When you look at our results at Wembley over the whole of last season and this season to date, they stack up pretty well. We also had a pretty good Champions League record there last season, and overall finished 3rd when many were predicting the Wembley factor would see us drop out of the top 4.There is absolutely no guarantee we will immediately hit the ground running results wise and match or better the Wembley results by moving in say in January. We may take a little while to settle in and drop points at a crucial part of the season which may see us drop out of Champions League qualification. How would it measure then financially?

As I see it, results wise on the pitch it's a gamble that could go either way by moving in part way through if our form at Wembley remains similar to how it has been, if results on the pitch completely nosedive at Wembley over the next 3 months then it clearly is a no brainer in moving ASAP, but if we base it on recent form over the last year, things don't suggest that is going to happen because of being at Wembley.
When you think of the wages these players are paid it shouldn't matter wether they play on a beach or a perfect pitch .they should be able to produce the goods at all times..i don't get this thinking that oh they arnt used to this surface or that.

The bottom 30 rows of the South Stand have been installed with safe standing in mind

The biggest shame is that with H&S regs for new builds it wasn’t possible to make the lower tiers around the ground steeper (especially the south) and the amount and size of exits. Not sure if leg room regulations have changed too!!

It’s all far too clinical and comfortable these days to really create a cauldron of noise

Anyway we'll all be drowned out by the pick n mix and pop corn
