The sliding pitch has to be an advantage for us too though. Both stadium will primarily be for football so keeping our playing surface in top condition is going to be a lot easier. Hopefully the playing surface will suffer at Wembley for when Chelsea use it. I guess we can just put the astro turf pitch out on ours even when there's no NFL game, just to keep the grass intact from heavy rain/snow etc.

Im loving the shots from inside the stadium as it gets nearer completion. It still looks like a Tottenham stadium which is great. Even though it's got a new design it still seems to have elements reminiscent of WHL. It still looks very closed in, it will be interesting to see how it looks with the lines on the pitch and how close to the stands it is. The 'To Dare is To Do' signs have really brought it closer to WHL.

Kahn can say whatever he likes at this point wouldn’t exactly be first time a football club owner had lied. The new stand is gonna cost circa £100m for a 4K increase in capacity. Meanwhile he will have a 50/90k stadium up the road. He could literally kill 3 birds with one stone. Increase jaguars revenue, increase Fulham revenue and make a bundle on a property development. When the opportunity presented itself to West Ham they took it. Personally believe there’s a very real possibility Fulham could.

I still think we’ve missed a trick leaving those areas behind the screens and around the stands below the tool open though - makes it feel less enclosed and I would’ve liked us to have gone for the whole wraparound display idea we talked about a while ago. Could’ve looked immense.

I've never watched a whole baseball game in my life but having read Don DeLillo's Underworld I'd pay to go to a game, even in the hole called the London Stadium. Though I suppose NY would be better. Do they still play it there or have they all moved out?

NY Yankees rebuilt Yankee Stadium right next to the old one, similarly to Spurs, but without the overlap, so they could move directly from one to the other in 2009.

NY Mets left Shea Stadium (also the site of a famous Beatles concert in 1964) in 2008 to move to Citi Field.

You can't play baseball in a football stadium because the outfield is much too wide to be accommodated in the width of a football pitch. They can just about do it at the London Stadium because of the extra space provided by the running track.

Kahn can say whatever he likes at this point wouldn’t exactly be first time a football club owner had lied. The new stand is gonna cost circa £100m for a 4K increase in capacity.

KHAN!

Its not a bad idea to have a multi event stadium in any case. Even if the NFL were to wane in support and desire, I'm pretty sure the astro underneath could easily be modified to accommodate other sports like Tennis, Hockey and maybe even Baseball (MLB).. In fact I would love to see a MLB game at theNWHL stadium some day..
Would not work, wrong shape

I went to the San Diego Padres (MLB) about three years ago - what a stadium, the interior is awesome. It is like a food hall/mall, you just walk around enjoying things - I suspect thats what Levy is aiming for.

Gotta distract the fans from the shitty product on the field. Hopefully that's not what Levy IS aiming for ;)

Haha - it was pretty dull the game that is... but its a nice atmosphere, comfy seats just behind the batter and well just great food and drink - so yeah a great distraction - THREE HOURS man

Looks like they've spent most of the day smoothing over the sand ready for the pitch to be laid

"Met one summer evening
As the sun was going down
She was lyin' on the beach
In her graduation gown
She was wrapped up in a blanket
I could tell, she knew her way around
And as I lay down beside her
No, she never made a sound
On down the beach
Came the beach cleaning man
Scoopin' up the papers
Flattening down the sand..."

The Tottenham v Chelsea game has always said the THS on the website. It also said that for the games against Liverpool onwards. They only changed the Liverpool, Man City and Cardiff games once they announced those for Wembley. Same for the CL games. They will only change the Chelsea game if they announce otherwise.

This was discussed in great depth especially on ssc
They have to dip, something to do with not exceeding uefa max distance of seats to the furthest corner flag.
They have gone with filling with the screens
Swings and roundabouts on the other hand the new south stand and all the glass might be iconic especially when lit up for night games

How do West Ham get away with that one then?! The opposite corner flag is barely in the same borough.
