The first bit laid by the West Stand is starting to look the business now it’s had a lawn roller over it.

With the greatest respect do the lifts have to work to stage a football match?

there will be a lot of staff not being happy to carry heavy boxes up a lot of stairs

there would also be a lot of disabled fans not being able to attend, who are as much a fan as anyone able bodied(y)

so the lifts are quite important to a lot of people:p

Yes but are they a safety issue?

Can you use lifts in an evacuation?

I have a recollection that all lifts in large premises with public access are supposed to return automatically to the ground floor when there is an alarm. That would require functioning software and a link into the alarm system.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

I can't see the cameras online. Where you getting the link from dude?

Go to the OS and click on the 3 horizonal lines in the top left of the screen, that opens up a menu. Scroll down to "The Stadium" and click on it. Then scoll down until you see a picture of the stadium under construction and click on "Interact" next to it. That opens up the list of cameras etc.

They've blacked out all the pitch side ones ATM.

Time Lapse two show the last image at 13:34 and they are just past half way through.

I fucking hope so or i'd be a goner, as I'd struggle with the stairs
You absolutely cannot use lifts if an evacuation is needed. If you aren't able to take the stairs, there should be a marked safe location - normally on a landing on a stairwell - which should be safe for a period of time (often 30 minutes) in the event of a fire, from where you'll be evacuated (normally carried out, potentially on a stretcher or what have you) by a member of staff or the fire brigade.

Even though the absence of lifts therefore shouldn't effect the ability to evacuate in an emergency, I think the PR of having to tell most mobility-impaired fans they weren't able to go to the first game even if they had season tickets would be pretty disastrous, I just can't see us doing that.
