Nature of some folk. They'd rather rim a rotten anus than praise DL. C'est la vie
True but equally I think that there are people on here who would sooner do the same than ever criticize him for anything too.

A lot of stadiums open when they still look like a work in progress. Next year is only 11 weeks away and there's no indication this guy knows what he's talking about. Being on site doesn't qualify you to see the big picture.

Stadium ready next year.... Well of course it will be, once everything is finished (which will be after it is open) it will be next year as only a few months away.

If anyone watched Chris Cowlin's vid his info from the builders there contradicts the above.

Shop being stocked as soon as next week and stadium announcement within the next two weeks

Can't help thinking they'd have moved the Chelsea game to Wembley already if they thought there was no chance of it being at NWHL. It's less then 6 weeks away now. Surely got to be an announcement one way or the other sooner than two weeks.

Besides, they would have to announce two test events before we could play right? And i imagine there would need to be at least two weeks notice for them. Will we announce this side of a test event is the question. I would imagine Levy would now want the 1st test event to be completed before annoucing a fixture.

You could argue there's more sense in the praise than the criticism though (not least because of the definition of being a supporter/fan, tbh).

In the context of the stadium though, imagine putting one of the serial whiners on here in the concourse on opening day, putting the supporters of all the other 19 clubs in the PL in front of him, and then get them to talk about terrible our ownership is, how little they have done for the club, and how they are all about take take take (to paraphrase the more common complaints).

I can't imagine that scenario in that setting being anything other than the depths of shameful.

The level of detail, quality and execution that has been put into NWHL is, if we're being honest, beyond what we could have expected. The Dildo Bros have basically given West Ham a Papier-mâché (metaphorical) attempt at a 'new stadium', whereas ours looks like it's been done in a way that you just shouldn't be able to find negatives from - there's 'Cheese Room' and NFL stuff, but that's the flip side to giving the club substainability in financials I guess.

Oh yeah, in the context of the stadium, any criticism is definitely outweighed by credit due. In hindsight, caution on the stadium opening might have been more sensible but in the end it will be fantastic.

I think it's always lose/lose with stuff like that - if they club were anything but optimistic, they probably would have got slated for that, too. Sounds like the contractors dropped a bollock.

There were just a few posts in recent pages that suggested that what we have is some sort of default option stadium that ENIC had no choice but to built, when in reality they could have just done a West Ham and chucked in the minimum effort. The stadium, imo, is the one huge statement that shows that we've actually got a bit of luck.

Wasn't it that Levy went with the contractor who promised the earlier date rather than the more cautious one? At the end of the day though, guaranteed that noone will be going on about it this time next year.

That main entrance is stunning. I can really see the head of the cockerel in it.

Are they going to cover the open staircase at the front of the stadium above the entrance?

Yes. All the metal framework that's on the west stand is for the cladding/veil. The staircase will be covered by that once it's fitted.
