Ours doesn't look that much better ?

I think that is because it doesnt have a reference for where the stand is in relation to the pitch. It is just comparing the relative steepness of the stands themselves.

If the pitch edge was taken into account the Gooner one would be starting further back and a more shallow rise....

The Pikeys are so far from the pitch they have to take into account the speed of light and the curvature of the earth's surface with regard to seeing the pitch!

I'm beginning to think that the opinions about when we're in the new stadium may be down to the substantial difference between "match ready" and "finished." These people on site are saying "next season" and the club is seemingly pointing to "before Christmas."

Hence the reason the fire systems were the critical issue in the delay. Fire systems are required to having a match, exterior cladding is not.

Trees in Tottenham is getting really posh. View attachment 41162

Looking at the locations of where the trees are being planted, I am wondering if they could have been better placed. On the other twitter pic circulating the trees could have been placed at each point where the shop begins and ends and also at points where the building changes. To me, it looks as if theres going to be a lot of leaves falling right in front of the entrance to the shop and could be a nuisance in future..Plus I think it takes away from the aesthetics of the building when theres big trees in the way.

You might assume that if say a December/January date was possible we might start seeing some training sessions on the pitch. Can they do that with out a safety certificate, I’ve no idea. But you would think Pochettino would want the players as accustomed to the surroundings as possible.
let em grow the grass a bit first

They need the Safety Certificate to be able to hold 'Public Entertainment' and sell tickets. The test events are required under the Regs. but they aren't allowed to charge for them. It's not needed for the players to train in the stadium as it's not open to the public.

If only we could get someone to come round everyday and sweep up the leaves?

The problem is they will be the wrong kind of leaves!

On a serious note though the more trees the better. Cannot stand these concrete developments with not a trace of nature or character. That walk to the olympic stadium is like walking through a post apocalyptic wasteland. Bloody horrible

Wembley way isnt much better, like walking along the M25.

As for the Cashburton Grove development, that is like Eastern Europe back behind the Iron Curtain!!

So glad we are still on the High Rd with still a hint of real character and life (and trees!!)

As the trees grow larger, where leaves fall will become a non-issue, because the leaves will go everywhere, especially when there's a breeze. It's a dead-common thing in London to have trees outside your shop. Shopkeepers are accustomed to it.

The planners will have required a landscape plan as a condition and a sustainability plan as another condition. Street trees are seen as a good thing in London and providing them would always have been expected by all parties. I'd be annoyed if they had missed the opportunity to make the street scene as green as possible.

You haven't been paying attention! There is now a whole avenue of young trees the length of Wembley Way, each one carefully labelled in the grate around it with its correct botanical name. It's obviously a conceptualised and planned project, probably funded through a S.106 Agreement for one of the multiple surrounding developments, because they haven't just planted the obvious, boring "usual suspect" London trees, there are all sorts of interesting species from all over the world. They've been there for a year or perhaps two. Once they grow in, the whole route will be a green and shaded avenue.

Agree about the High Rd though. The more trees, the better.

Ok thanks. Might go back that way once they’ve matured
Cannot stand that walk. Always go via Wembley Central and walk down the high street. So much more character. Not to mention a pub or 3!!!

Bit misleading, it's only the south stand that is much closer. The other stands have comparable distances. Although ours are slightly closer.

Along the sides yes, behind both goals is closer (there's is in red)
