IF it opens for the Burnley game it'll be an extra Christmas pressie for all of us!

I just hope it's against a decent proper club like Burnley. Also it'll be a game we would expect to win.

I think we agreed to play our group games at wembley - so regardless of when we go into the new stadium, the group games are at wembley...

Might as well as it has the same effect

It doesn't though really. If something is annoying you on the Internet you can close your browser, switch your computer/phone off. Unfortunately there is no such solution for someone sitting near you if you can't get away from them, other than physical violence.

Oh how I wish I could just press a button and switch off some of my work colleagues or annoying twats on public transport :D.

Does anyone know how drainage works with the slide away grass pitch?

Underneath the turf is sand and underneath the sand is a plastic tank that collects the water. The water can be pumped from the tank and used for watering the pitch and there is a also little cylinders of glass wool sticking up from the tank to the sand level which suck water up in a capillary action to irrigate the grass from below (which is a far more efficient way of doing it than spraying the water on from above because you don't get it evaporating).

Very clever stuff and ensures that you can have a perfect pitch with only 25cm of soil/sand above the water tank.

The nuts and bolts are it has a vacuum system in the pitch trays, the water is then stored and used to irrigate the pitch either when it's parked or general maintenance or any other areas of green stuff in front of the stadium.
...
FAVS (force air vacuum system) helps the roots breathe by sucking or blowing air through the pitch.
I guess it can finely adjust the moisture content too, but I don't think drainage is going to be a big problem, as there is a big void at the bottom of the trays - even if there was a flash flood, it would all drop through quickly enough.
It all sounds a bit gimmicky to me, but if there is air above and below the pitch, that alone has to help the grass roots breathe, and future planning for a more erratic climate seems good thinking.
Liverpool installed something similar and their pitch has looked OK. (Although they relaid the pitch this summer).

Could someone point me to something official from the club stating that ST holders member packs are soon to be sent out please? I can’t find this info anywhere other than in allygold’s q&a and the indie article, and I’ve been emails nothing.
