Wembley pitch held up pretty well tbh. Should be fine if not perfect for city.
Now that’s an optimistic post (for once!). There’s 2 more NFL games to go yet before our City game.

That PK whatshisname posted a picture of some rubbish in a room and based on it, he says the stadium wont pass safety test. 3pm announcement.

Depends on where those areas are.
But even if they are areas that the public will use during test events, it shouldn't take long to clear.

If the first test event is only for a few thousand fans, we could just open up 1 stand.

The images we have seen of almost finished areas, have they been more in one stand than others?

Does anyone know if we can get a safety certificate for just 1 or 2 stands and then open the rest for the next test event?

Regardless of the veracity of his claims, it's incredible that this guy hasn't been fired from whatever job he does, given he has a picture of his face on his Twitter page. Unless of course his job is 'wander around the stadium taking photos and posting them with passive aggressive captions'.
Maybe his job is "expectations manager" :cautious:

I would've thought that we are just seeking a safety certificate for the 20k test.

in which case his talk about evacuating 60k (despite boxes in some unknown location) seems redundant.

No way we would attempt to get it signed off if that mess was in a thoroughfare IMO.

I see a load of scaffolding on a staircase and think ‘work done, scaffolding on its way out’. Surely that’s better than scaffolding still up in place?

I can't see how mess in a room has any effect on safety.
That room could be a storage room with no public access, no through access etc.
He'll be proven right or wrong at 3pm today though. He's made a statement in quotes as if it is an official club statement due today.
I doubt it (his statement) will happen today, tomorrow or any time personally.

Well if there is an announcement today he'll suddenly have a bit more credibility.

Edit, he's also said this, today:

I considered not posting this because everyone throws a bitch fit when negative info is passed on, but I spoke to someone who works for the Club last week and when I suggested Burnley his response was "more likely February if we're lucky".

I was hoping he was wrong to be honest as I'm sure rumours go around the Club just like they do any other office environment but I guess we'll see if an announcement does come out or not.

The club aren’t doing itself any favours atm. All the rumours and counter rumours flying around.
I really hope we do get a statement as I’m fed up with being in the dark about when it’s remotely likely to open ☹️

We're screwed if it takes that long. Wembley can't do many 90k events and will cost the club a fortune.

I mean, the club hasnt done itself any favors this year. One calamitous PR disaster after another. They’ve used all the built up good will from the prior seasons and then some. Makes me think that some director who kept it all in line left and no one else in the boardroom has the slightest clue of what to do.
