I mean, the club hasnt done itself any favors this year. One calamitous PR disaster after another. They’ve used all the built up good will from the prior seasons and then some. Makes me think that some director who kept it all in line left and no one else in the boardroom has the slightest clue of what to do.

It's funny you say that, the Club just sent around a fans survey and I made that exact point in the comments section at the end. I said that I never felt closer to the Club than I did that last season at WHL. They executed everything so well that season and built up so much goodwill only to see all of it wasted for the shambles that has been this summer.

To be fair to the club they are saying nothing until they know 100% now as they have been burned by this. Everything else is speculation, forums and social media making up their own scenarios to be shot down and in turn the club get blamed for breaking promises not made.

I'm going to choose to stay optimistic here. Remember everything we've seen in the last couple of weeks had people thinking we're close to being ready:

The pitch going in
The seats nearly finished
No sign or rumour of huge amounts being ripped out to fix the wiring
Season ticket cards and packs being sent out
Bars being stocked
No confirmation of Chelsea being moved less than six weeks from the game
Rumours from the Ladies game of their involvement in a November match at the new stadium
Poch himself saying it should be before Christmas

And on the flipside we have a single Twitter account with no track record, some picture of scaffolding having been removed, and a strange amount of access to the stadium suggesting he probably doesn't work there (he'd be sacked) but is receiving pics and info from others to publish anonymously.

Could post this in the injuries thread, the youth player thread and the transfer rumour forum and it would be just as true.

So they are sending out season ticket packs this week and now there is going to be an announcement today its not going to be ready till next season. Do me a favour, that makes no sense at all!

Our work canteen was closed for refurbishment in July 2017. It's still not open. When I compare the stadium progress to that it puts the progress they've made into perspective.

Getting a bit boring now, isn’t it?
It’s the world we live in, not just for football fans but for everything. People, especially the millennial generation no, are so accustomed to what they are getting now at their fingertips that anything which requires patience and perspective is seen as a hassle. I agree, it’s boring, this need for blame achieves nothing and creates negative where it needn’t exist.

Really wish this stadium was built before the internet.

I considered not posting this because everyone throws a bitch fit when negative info is passed on, but I spoke to someone who works for the Club last week and when I suggested Burnley his response was "more likely February if we're lucky".

I was hoping he was wrong to be honest as I'm sure rumours go around the Club just like they do any other office environment but I guess we'll see if an announcement does come out or not.

I think the hostility towards anyone here that dares to say anything the spoils the dreamers fantasies is FAR worse than just saying you don't think it's going swimmingly.

People should just be entitled to their un-hurtful opinions without fear of being pounced on by a dozen people crying because they're not getting their shiney new toy when they want it.

(all comments massively over exaggerated for dramatic effect)

People need to remember this is one of the very few backwaters of the internet where people are frothing about this. It sucks for the season ticket holders, and the people who work on the stadium. For everyone else it's just another small drama that happens at the club.

Going off topic here but I was thinking along similar lines just this morning regarding the attitudes of my son, daughters and the youth of today in general pretty much. If anything requires effort or patience they just instantly throw the towel in. Actually they'd probably just walk away as throwing the towel requires effort. Not even walk away either. Just wheel off on their fkin Segway.

People’s patience is being tested because of the false promises. They announced in July test events for a month later when they must have known there was absolutely no chance. On the back of the memberships and tickets being sold I booked flights from Australia to come and watch us at the new stadium. Press releases stating the stadium will definitely be ready. The lies are what has been the most disappointing and not the delays. I’ve read many more stories from fans with similar scenarios , trips of people’s lifetimes wasted because they have not been transparent.

It was brave of you to book that trip on the back of a construction project deadline. The stadium is going to be in place for decades. Harsh to say this and I’d be pissed off too in a similar position but you gambled.

I completely agree but the confidence of the media being outlined made it seem a formality especially with the packs and ticketing being sold. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and that is probably true for myself and the club.

Probably just announce the new shop is opening soon?
And as a gesture of goodwill for their patience during the stadium's delays, Season Ticket Holders will receive* an exclusive voucher for 5% off a £250 spend. (Terms and conditions apply)

*At some undefined point in the future

seriously are we really losing our shit over a guy who thinks a room full of cardboard boxes couldn't be cleaned in time for an inspection?

And now people are buzzing over a 3pm announcement. Unless it’s a stadium opening today announcement then here comes further negativity. And did the 3pm announcement rumour come from official sources?

And the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before...
