Reminds me when I watched the Ledley King testimonial match. I came away from it angry that we lost.

I'm a stateside supporter who bought tickets for the Chelsea match through Thomas Cook. Just received this email from them:

Please be advised that due to the delay in the completion of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the venue for the fixture between Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea FC is highly likely to change.

Fixture: Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea FC
Original Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Original Hospitality Ticket: Travel Club
Fixture Date: Saturday 24th November 2018
Kick-off Time: 17:30
NEW Stadium: TBC but 99% likely to be Wembley Stadium
NEW Hospitality Ticket: Three Lions Lounge*

Not sure if this is notable -- they could just be going off the Daily Mail report -- but FWIW this is the first time they've reached out regarding the match being moved. I have until Thursday to cancel the booking without penalty (which I will do once the club makes the official announcement since getting a ticket at Wembley will be easier and much less expensive), and we'll certainly hear something before then.

some itk from endee33 on coys: The boys on site are being told that there is a test game with fans on Dec. 2nd
Okay, I know we've looked really, really incompetent off the pitch over the last few months - but I'm pretty sure we wouldn't schedule a test event on top of the North London Derby...

Am I right in thinking that the steps to the right of the main entrance are extremely steep or is it an optical allusion if not an allusion I would have said they are hazardous and a safety hazard?

Maybe they’ll provide free screening of the game to Spurs supporters? Probably not, but just a thought.

Unless the test event is one of those things where they sell tickets and show the NLD on the big screens..

Could be Tottenham vs Durham.
We did have someone say there will be a ladies game as a test.
They did say November I think... but that game is on the 2nd of December

Thanks Dov, edit: if that's true I wonder if they'll do the second event soon after.

The original two were planned on Mon 27th August and Sat 1st September so they thought they could do two in a week back then. That would have given them two whole weeks to get sign off and do corrections before the opening date though, so Burnley might be a bit of a stretch unless they're super confident, or if the 2nd Dec is the second event the timelines would be similar.

Thanks Dov, if that's true and the first of the two needed test events I'd say Burnley on December 15th is unlikely. Unless they sqeeze a second event in between then and pray everything passes?
Even if they tried I don’t think that would satisfy the ticket sales for home and also Burnley supporters.

Editted my post after I looked back at the original dates, it's what they planned to do when they thought Liverpool was going to be the opener, only left themselves two weeks between test event and opening game.

If that date of the 2nd is correct it doesn't leave much time to manouvre and announce the Burnley date as an opening. I would imagine that we would want to do tests in November and iron out any issues ahead of the opening and then BUILD Up to the opening with a major campaign.

The next few (2) weeks will be vital to this i suppose... It just like the transfer thread with the what if's etc. Love this thread.

Well the 2nd test event open to the public was scheduled for 1st Sep ahead of the Liverpool game on the 15th. So if this is the 2nd test event date then it's possible the Burnley game will be the opener.
