Out of interest club shops:

Arsenal 12k sq ft

Chelsea 12k

United 17 k

Liverpool 20k

Spurs 23k sq ft

And no we don’t get a trophy for that.

Bit misleading, 10k of liverpools space is taken up with security guards and metal detectors.

No more so if you forget your wallet. I think you'd need a backup in accessory form like the contactless keyrings/wristbands etc. Or they set the phone to store a percentage of power aside to use for emergency calls and payments. I'm just the ideas man, I'll leave it to the nerds to make it happen.
Nah I only use a wallet for cards, cash I keep in my pocket:)
I do get it though, you are in favour of cashless which is far enough, personally I like the option of cash as I think you lose track of the cost of things more easily with cashless, I'm not losing any sleep over it though as it's not something I can do anything about.
As I posted originally, I'm not complaining I'm just lamenting, my time is passing, even down the Spurs.

I noticed something the other day whilst looking at pictures of the east side of the stadium. I'm not sure, but I think the angled pieces of the veil open in different directions.
As you look at the stadium the veil pieces on the west side open on the left hand side, and having just looked at Mr AVs latest video, as it pans around and gets to the north eastern corner, the Vale pieces then look as if they are open on the right hand side, so the open sides would effectively be facing each other somewhere along the perimeter of the veil. Seems odd.

Totally agree. I actually rarely carry cash these days so the stadium being cashless doesn’t bother me, but the idea of only being able to pay by card on a night out on the piss sounds dangerous to my bank balance.

I'm surprised that the shop won't even have a single till for cash transactions. I never understand why shops have to price things as so many pounds and 99p. If they want to speed things up at the tills just round up the cost to the nearest pound. I know it's meant to be a psychological thing, but do people really still care about spending an extra few pence in a specialist shop these days?

Does anyone take the penny change?

Fucking cyber paranoia.

Isn't there a tin hat forum for that? Or is that too risky too?

It's not cyber paranoia at all. The reason cashless is so accepted is that for years companies (Amex/Visa/Mastercard) have been promoting it as something good. Nobdy is promoting cash which is in some ways safer and anonymous. People are just handing over there data for clubcard points and so they can be sold more shit.

Monzo for use at Spurs, cash for everyting that I can.

I for one enjoy filling my piggy bank with loose change and getting a little buzz when I see how much I have managed to save on the side when I get round to counting it. If cash does become extinct, I'll miss that. I know technically I'll still have that money but there is a novelty to it.

Sorry to keep on the off topic path.
As for the stadium, can't really say much apart from that it looks majestic. Getting closer it seems!

I’m surprised there isn’t a cash option just as a back up. There’s many shops I go in regularly like cafes and restaurants where their card machines don’t work and that’s on a tiny scale. So the chances of machines crashing on such a complex operation must be very high. Can you imagine the sheer chaos if the machines went down on match day.

My comment was related to people not willing to use biometrics to pay for fear of "the man" having their prints/retina/dna

If you haven't done anything wrong why bother?
If you have, the rest of us would quite like the police to catch you (y)

In an effort to get this thread a little bit back on track, it looks like they are doing some more of the veil on the high road side.

Also, looking at the webcam on that side it appears there are only 2 sets of double doors for access to the building. How the hell are they going to get everyone in that stand via just those doors. Its going to be a massive crush and queue outside the building.
