Really cracking on with veil. At least we know for sure now the annoying gaps are just covered by the veil. It’s gonna look virtually done once this veil is on if they carry on a this pace west stand be done in 1-2 weeks. View attachment 41602

I read somewhere that the whole veil on all stands should take around 3-4 weeks to complete.

Come December, hopefully for the test events, we should have a stadium that is fully done and ready.

I was told Man United game around 4/5 weeks ago and that is still very much the aim.

I was driving out of London on the A4 flyover yesterday and looked at Brentford's new stadium coming out of the ground. Theyve done one stand and it looks unbelievably steep. They are working in a small space like we were for WHL but not on the same timescale. I dont know who is in charge of that construction project but it will be interesting to see how quick that goes up being the only real vague comparable stadium construction going on at the same time in London.

Brentford stadium is absolutely nowhere near the complexity of ours. I think it is 20k and basically will just be a bog standard stadium. Builds like that can be done in a year to 18 months.

I guess on the plus side of things, given the delays, when we do move in the stadium will have a much more complete look than it would have in September. I'm sure some would have preferred to move in later and have a more complete stadium anyway.

Progress...?! Worth reading the thread

It takes a month to test? Im sorry that cannot be right. To test a fire alarm, Turn on, if it makes noise, passed. If it doesnt, failed. Turn off. That takes like a minute, tops. Then move onto the rest of the tests. None of which should take anywhere close to even a day.

I think he means all of the testing that he listed will be done in a few weeks. If it passes they can commit to a date. With that in mind I would guess Burnley is doable provided it passes these by mid-november time.

I re read and edited my post a bit. But still 4 weeks for all system testing seems wildly inefficient, to say the least.

point...all the faults are behind walls /ceilings that are inaccessible which means taking ceilings and redoing them

To test 1000's of smoke detectors and manual call points and make sure that the correct alarm is received at the fire alarm panel identifying the correct location of the fire will take weeks.

Less than a month to Chelsea home match.
I reckon they're waiting to give us a date for our first match at the same time as telling us Chelsea (and others) will be at Wemberlee.

I doubt very much they'll issue an opening date until all the alarm tests have been carried out and passed. So taking that twitter thread into consideration, I think we can expect to hear an announcement around the end of November early December of the test event dates. But only IF the the tests are passed.

Which is frankly a disgrace. They seem to be putting PR ahead of the fans. People need to book travel, match tickets, time off work, child-carers.

Have to say reading about Everton stadium and after Chelsea fiasco we were incredibly lucky with timing of Brexit. Had it happened 2-3 years earlier I very much doubt the stadium would have been built at all. Or at least not in its current design, they’d probably have ditched the NFL pitch.

Instead Brexit cost the club hundreds of millions extra

But will it be a single person who has to personally test each of those detectors / call points etc one by one? Surely there will be a team?

We spend about 2 to 3 manhours for one fire or gas loop in the oil and gas industry. If everything is ok you can time each loop by 1 hour basically, costwise 3 hours. However, troubleshooting takes time if something fails. I guess 1 month is if many of the tests fail. Shouldnt take that long if they have done their job this time

If they have any clue there will be multiple teams testing loops independently
