The fact they are working nights on the veil must surly indicate they are hopeful for January. It’s not essential to open the stadium so why would they bother working nights on it. Hopefully the thinking has gone from ready to finished.

From Edmonton on COYS (normally very reliable on stadium news)

Let’s be absolutely clear that only the main board know and they are not telling anyone. The internal gossip since early October was the United game but I was clinging onto Burnley which I did hear from someone senior was the aim. The internal gossip Now is next season

This is baaaaad if it's next season.

All the new stadium optimism will be converted to Wembley pessimism and will create a nasty atmosphere round the club. Would also give players incentive to leave as they would see a clear season of the turmoil.

To be honest if this is the case, lets just get the word out there and get the fuck on with the season, and move into a beautiful, finished ground next season. It’s not the actual move in date that’s killing me, it’s the anxiety of not knowing.

If it does end up being next season i just don't know how the club and mace can get it so wrong. How could they think the opening date would be September when it would actually be almost a year longer, it doesn't make sense.

No disrespect to Edmonton but he’s barely got one thing right on the stadium so far. No idea where the concept of him being reliable comes from.

I think they knew for months September wasn’t real but wanted the cash lump sum of ST sales. However I think they probably thought before Xmas was definitely doable before the fire system stuff. They basically took a bit of a punt and is backfired horribly. I think the next announcement has to be final. Either in January/February or it’s next season.

I still don't buy next season. What is so wrong with the thing that it's going to take eight months to put right and that only takes us up to the end of this season, how can they know it will take that long and if it's that bad how can they be sure they'll even get it done by then? Not to mention they seem to be pushing on with the completion, not at all like they have almost a year before the first game.
I'm still running with the idea that they are going for January and are going all out to make it look the dog's bollocks ready for the first game, so if there's going to be a delay why not turn it into a benefit as best we can.
From a football point of view it is also better for the team to play in the new stadium this season to get the teething troubles out of the way and get used to the place so they are all settled in at the start of next season.

It all depends on those internal systems checks though right? If the cabling is screwed and it's a nightmare to access then it can look as finished as you like but we won't be able to move in... Or are we past those new systems checks now?

Agree, for a project of this magnitude and expense. It’s like an episode of grand designs.

What kind of a nightmare? Are the cables encased in concrete and we'll have to get the jack hammers in to get to them? Even if that was the case I don't see eight months of jack hammering being necessary. In fact I don't believe we'll need jack hammers at all in which case it should be even quicker.
I just don't buy it sorry, I appreciate that they can't guarantee that it will be done on any certain date even if they are themselves certain, just in case there is something else they are unaware of but they have been addressing this problem for over two months so I'd hope they are beyond the scratching their heads wondering how they are going to get at the cables stage by now.

It's not just cables. Every device has to be addressed correctly and tested. Every smoke head, heat detector, break glass unit, door controller, shutter, suppression systems, vesda units, sprinkler systems etc...
This is massively difficult to do on a building site with all the dust in the air.

I have it from a very very good source (me) that we will not be in the NWHL until sometime next year

I stand by that 100% and you can quote me on that if you need to
