I think graham Roberts on twitter has shown these ex players know absolutely nothing. What utter nonsense saying we’d rather have a low profile opponent. The crowd and fanfare will be exactly the same. Don’t tell me for one second Levy would rather have Watford than Manchester United.

I dont see why not, the first game is going to be full capacity regardless, would be great exposure if it's a huge game on TV too
I could understand concerns for heated rivals being the first game but not Utd. There will be nothing low key about it regardless anyway because it's a massive new state of the new stadium, with lots of media coverage. They're not going to say "lets not cover Spurs new stadium opening because it's only...".

My guess is that every match in the new stadium will be at capacity for 3 months after opening.

Really, only Arsenal should give the police any cause for concern, but that's more on the high road because of restricted access due to continuing construction.

Can everyone just accept that we'll move in as soon as we possibly can, and that the identity of the opponent is fundamentally irrelevant?

After the 3 months we'll be moaning about it

Was on skyscrapercity and they were having the same conversation re the cladding at night and how see through it is - it does look a tad shit at night - judging by the pics. Although to be honest you can also look through the Allianz Arena cladding also but not as much as our one although I also note we dont have the LED lighting yet

So im proposing they knock down the entire stadium and rebuild it - this time with some thought process behind it.

And proper fire alarms rather than buckets of sand

In all seriousness the cool thing about this veil is that in 10-15 years we can give the whole stadium a facelift just by replacing the veil which could easily be done over a summer. Obviously if it does end up looking shit at night it might be something they think about sooner. Tbh it’s probably something that could easily be remedied if need be just replace the panels with less perforated ones in the respective areas which isn’t that many.

Yes heard this a few times. Yes it was designed this way but also people are forgetting the effect that the coloured LED lighting will have on the veil at nightime.
Adding lighting between the stadium and the veil will entirely change the appearance of the stadium and add real depth and richness.
Right now its just bright plain working lights and the veil is 'undressed' without the lights.

Give it time, will be as fantastic as the rest of it has been so far!

Its all taking shape. The only thing that I am disappointed in............why is Our motto placed between Lilywhite House and the North Stand? I thought it might have gone over the West Stand entrance. It should have been in a prominant place.

Re what Paul Miller said, I listened to the LastWordOnSpurs podcast this morning, he said they were hoping for a low key game in February sometime as the Police wouldn't want a high profile match as the first game, he added that we'd definitley be in the new stadium this season, without doubt.

Can’t see what difference the profile of the game makes. It’s going to be sold out so can’t see what difference the opponent makes.

Our original first game was going to be Liverpool. I can’t see how that differs in profile to Man U

someone quoted you earlier to show you what it will be lit up like when it finishes, and your post the same message as earlier.

it's lighting at the moment is due to builders being in there, once finished it will be different

edmonton: Definitely trying for January
(as opposed to what some people are saying we wont move in this season)

Just to add to this: I spoke to a guy in the Executive Club office and he said the club is hoping to move into the new stadium in January.

Nothing groundbreaking and you'd probably expect him to say that to reassure people. We'll find out soon I guess.
