The media have been all over the stadium so clearly they care
The only interest I see they have most of the time is to laugh or mock us for the delay costs etc. My opinion is that it is click bate for them, nothing more

Sorry mate but that’s just rubbish. There will be huge interest whoever we play. Obviously if it was man United that will only amplify it. But the interest is massive you only have to look at the number of stories daily on twitter. And when they had the light show the other night Twitter nearly exploded. The interest is massive from most football supporters. Tbh even if Bournemouth were opening a new stadium I’d be interested. Maybe that’s cause I’m a stadium geek. It will be front page and back page headlines the next day.
I wouldn't say rubbish, just that we disagree. I think other fans are just curious but that's it.

Edmonton also suggested next season a week or 2 ago I think

@davidmatzdorf why disagree?
Nov 3rd:
From Edmonton on COYS (normally very reliable on stadium news)
Let’s be absolutely clear that only the main board know and they are not telling anyone. The internal gossip since early October was the United game but I was clinging onto Burnley which I did hear from someone senior was the aim. The internal gossip Now is next season

Because he didn't "suggest next season". He said (and I recalled without having to check) that the "internal gossip" was suggesting next season. The implication is that "gossip" is, by definition, unreliable. But there were immediately pages of wailing, panicked posts on the basis that Edmonton was claiming that the stadium would not open until next season. He didn't say that. He reported gossip.

This is how bullshit rumours spread. Because people don't read carefully.

Thats just insane, I mean each locker is bigger than my damn house

Maybe its a conversation for another time but I am fascinated by how big college football is, i mean it seems bigger than the Pros and the size of those stadium and facilities is insanity. Ive always wandered how they get the finances to support all that, do they get paid by the NFL when those players are drafted etc...
It helps that they don’t have to pay the players, it is a scandal in US how young college players get exploited

I'm not entirely disagreeing, but the 'exploitation' gets them a free ride at schools where enrolment, tuition, accomodation etc. are all expensive; and it provides them with a route towards being drafted by a pro team and making untold millions.

If you want to talk about exploitation (and I don't now as this is already way off topic) then the whole system of internship is a far more appropriate subject.

don't play the players and many people think that the pro leagues are in on it by not drafting players out of high school

Tbh i wasn't that much of a fan of the cladding in the original renders. But oh my it looks good. Can't wait to see it lit up.

Not sure about the bridge though. Could have been so much better if lilly white house and the populous design for the stadium could have been designed at the same time to make them work together more.

Football pretty much defines the state of Texas. The school knows that they can invest heavily as past alumni, donors and sponsorships will continue to reward them having a stellar program. Also helps that they WILL never ever pay the student athletes. In lieu of this, the student athletes receive scholarships and are NOT allowed to capitalize on their stardom in any way or fashion while in college. The NCAA hands out punitive measures for students who are caught getting money from sponsoring events or even selling their own jerseys etc
Exactly right besides for the fact Texas football has been absolute trash for years

They can change the external of Lilywhite House in the future if they want. I suspect they might once everything else is done.....if we’ve any money left!

Well regardless of what non Spurs fans think I'm sure there's a lot of interest in the stadium. Whether people are impressed or looking to pick holes in it there is interest. There's no doubt regardless of who we play the media are going to be all over it. Besides the test events are the low key openers anyway.

There's been interest from the media that covers all perspectives, not sure what you've been reading but I've seen plenty of positive articles on the stadium.

Anyway slight contradiction there... If its click bait for them then surely they'll report anything to do with the stadium whether it's good or bad.

I’ve actually always liked the cladding even from the renders. But must say I’m not sure about this angled bit they are installing above the entrance. Just seems to spoil the clean flow of it, but will wait till it’s all in to reserve judgment. You do wonder how they ever came up with this design for the entrance it’s so weird/unique even more so in the flesh looks like a massive glass slide. Not something you would ever associate with the entrance to a football stadium. And that isn’t negative just saying it’s very unusual.

There was quite a lot of fuss about Liverpool stand and that was just a stand. No idea who they played but pretty sure it wasn’t a big game. Also this is the first major new built football stadium that’s opened in the UK when social media has been in full cry. Hasn’t actually been a new PL stadium for quite a well I guess West Ham was the last( although technically not a new stadium)and look at the attention that got. I think Brighton must be the last football stadium built.
