The planning consent for the additional events needs to be applied for right now, in case we need to stay longer at Wembley. It takes a couple of months to get even a non-controversial planning application approved - and this one isn't non-controversial, because local residents usually oppose any increase in the number of full-capacity events. This is a damage-control exercise, to ensure we will have somewhere to play if anything else goes awry.

It has nothing new to say, no bearing on the completion date of the new stadium. It's a business safety measure.

Someone TLDR this for me pls

Dear person who lives close enough to the stadium that we legally have to contact you about this-
Spurs might be playing up to 17 more games at Wembley. If you want to make a complaint we won't listen to, stick it on our website.
Kisses, Brent Council.

The letter says 15th Jan onward, the Man Utd game is the 13th Jan. That means we’re not applying for special dispensation for that game, so can expect a max capacity of 57,000 for Man Utd should we not make NWHL... seems odd.

I doubt we'll ever get 80k tickets sold for any more Wembley games even if we were allowed. I've heard so many people say their 'done ' with Wembley that I'm fearful attendances will get embarrassingly low before we leave it.

That’s what I said - no more games at Wembley but I couldn’t resist and am going to Chelsea next week. Think it very much depends on the team performance and general mood. I can’t imagine an Arsenal game for example not being sold out.

A bit more respect for the fans however would have made a big difference in how fans feel about Wembley.

I'm the same.
Thought about Chelsea though but I'm working unfortunately.
That said if I lived nearer I'd probably still go. I'm just not prepared to spend all that money and the 5hr+ round trip going to watch us in that place again.

Aside from the game we played in Milton Keynes, the Burnley game will be the first "home" game I've missed in maybe 10 years.

I've got a Christmas do that evening and I just can't be arsed with all the rushing around and queuing to get out of Wembley so I'll watch it on a stream instead, had it of been at The Lane I would be there (and I actually live closer to Wembley than I do Spurs).

The friend I go with is seriously fed up with Wembley now and is passing on Southampton and Burnley as well. The general vibe at Wembley is a negative one despite our form although I suppose conceding after the opening 2 minutes in every game doesn't help that :X3:

Let's hope the December update contains information about test events to get some excitement going towards the stadium again.

A bit more respect for the fans

This kind of comment makes me lol.

The Club are building us a new stadium and wanted to do it pretty much in a single season - it was highly ambitious and didn't work out - it's not like they meant for that to happen that way.

The Wembley situation is what it is; the location and the costs are out of the club's control now but ultimately; where else are we going to go until the stadium is ready?

It'll be worth every minute of waiting.

In addition the crap situation with ST’s is allowing people to pick and choose a little more. It’s great for me as I now don’t have to apply for Wolves home tickets as I’m not around.

Yes but we are clearly preparing to apply for higher capacity at some games should the worst happen given this letter has gone in. I’m just surprised that the Man Utd game, which you’d expect we’d get a high attendance for, doesn’t fall within that window... or whether that game is being moved to the 15th?

No need to LOL. My comment was not about us having to play at Wembley. I will not be disgruntled because my club has shown ambition and the stadium is delayed. My comment was more about the way they have gone about treating fans in light of the stadium delay. Refunds / pricing at Wembley.

How has the build not been a balls up? Deadlines missed, season tickets sold when they must have known....advertising the CL and looking rather silly, more expense, advertising for more workers to push the work after the test event fail.

When the rumours first started, "it's only the Sun", sorry, but the fans have actually been let down.

Mistakes have been made but in the end we’ll still have a class stadium. I still think the magnitude of actually getting this thing built is lost on some supporters who are now taking it for granted.

Building a brand new stadium in London, on our ancestoral home, in the midst of major political strife is a massive achievement. It’s a shame that poor communication by the club in the last six months has tarnished that.

The stadium was always going to be class, they weren't designing it as they went along.

It's looking great yes, but it's still well behind schedule, has been a bit of a fiasco and it's still not clear when it's going to open.

Its going to be world class when it opens but anyone denying the whole thing has been a shambles recently has there heads stuck in the sand. Well behind schedule, 3 deadlines missed already, the whole season ticketing fiasco. Its a joke.

Yeah, theres not much the club could do, but the lack of communication is absurd. Only communicating things after the media reports it(and bottling the initial communications as well), then the poor refunds choice. The club has been a PR calamity destroying all the good will they built up and then some.
