Having worked with EC Harris/Arcadia, they are incompetent at best, they don’t understand the concept of money and accounting which is quite important when managing projects worth so much money.

Not a surprise it went wrong.

My company currently is working with Mace on two big projects and it’s not a surprise the stadium has gone tits up either as they aren’t the most competent either.
How on earth has the stadium gone tits up??? A project this big and complex...I'm impressed more hasn't gone wrong. Even if we don't get in til next season. So what, hardly the end of the world. It's taken about as long as a build this big should take. Maybe even quicker.

Suggestions around that Newcastle will be the first game with test events in January. Anyone else heard the same sort of rumours?

I'm just so happy to see the vast work that has taken place from August to today. When I visited in August after the Fulham game and seen the Stadium with my own eyes I knew right there and then there wasn't any chance of it being opened before Christmas. Hell the Club shop was supposed to be open then but it was literally a building site. As it stands today we could probably open it now but there is still some ongoing cosmetic work that needs to be completed. I have followed the progress of the demolition of WHL through to the building of the New Stadium. After what I have seen the place looks like a cross between a 5 star hotel and a State-of-the-art airport. We will all love the place and I'm sure opposition fans will enjoy their visits to the Stadium. This will probably change the way all future football Stadiums are built and Daniel Levy needs to be given a lot of credit for delivering such a beautiful stadium for all Tottenham fans. I just hope that my health can hold out to make it over for a competitive game.

I am quite amazed they hadn't split the pitch before. They needed to test it split and went back together again seamlessly. I know they rigged a small pilot up at the test ground, but it's totally different to have it full scale and weighing tons. Imagine if they'd not split it until the week before the test event and found it was fooked? I was wondering why they turned off all the pitch cameras yesterday.

maybe they haven’t tested it before as it isn’t a day 1 requirement to have an extra pitch for NFL under our normal pitch. Maybe the grass needed to bed in before they attempted it. Maybe it’s not that important.

When you say you knew right there and then did you know about the fire alarm wiring was wrong? My understanding is that was the cause of the delay, I don't know of any other and the thing looks pretty well ready now even after the slow down in work rate after the faulty wiring was discovered.
If there is a consolation with the delay it certainly is that when we go home it is going to look pretty well perfect I'll grant you that.

The new ticket office seems to be taking longer than the stadium..
Interesting that it's going to be a brick building I guess it's because it is right up close to the terrace of listed buildings, strange but it might actually look pretty smart.

I'm slightly worried that player's feet will fall through the gap ! Just seems odd that it would be seamless!

I believe when the trays are closed it's not straight edges meeting together. One side of the grass overlaps the otherside in a diagonal way.

Appears race horses have no problem with it and they have more feet that can fall thru ?
