Quite depressing. It will still be great. If they’d announced that it wasn’t Man U but the actual date it is going to open that would be much better of course!

Not sure what Christmas has to do with test event on January 6? Let’s hope they can do them on these dates and get us in ASAP
I think the delay would stem from not being able to hold a test event on the 30th.

The way we had (reportedly) hoped to schedule it was to have a week between the first and second test event, followed by a week until the United match. Not being able to begin hosting the test events until early January would not leave enough time to get approval for the United match on that schedule but would seem to leave open the possibility of moving into the stadium in late January, which is consistent with the club's announcement today.

On SSC. :woot:

After reading these posts, I thought that I should share this with you. My Daughter has been working for Spurs over the last 18 months or so, and called me today to say that she's going to be working at the test event on Sunday. She also asked me if Spurs are playing on January 13th and 30th as she's going to be working at NWHL then as well. Apparently according to her it's all "Top Secret and Political as they haven't announced it to the Press yet". Hopefully after tonight they'll be able to announce that there WILL be Champions League football at NWHL this season and that United will be the first opponents on the 13th.
Don't shoot the messenger, but with the work that her Company has done previously, I'm personally feeling fairly confident about booking my train tickets for Sunday 13th and to be finally able to take my seat in our new ground.
I could say more, but don't want to compromise her or her company as I believe that this site is monitored by Spurs.
I hope he didn’t book that train ticket

Not too surprised that the Man Utd game is at Wembley. Always felt with the Festive period it was going to be a tough ask to fit test events etc in time to get the Man Utd game at home.

There does seem to be a fair bit of detail in that message which makes me quite optimistic. Usually it is something we are endeavouring to complete etc etc will update as soon as possible .... working very hard blag blah, whether we like it or not since the pre Liverpool debacle Levy has been pretty loath to sound too optimistic but that message is borderline optimistic if you ask me.

If we are drawn madrid in the cl i reckon that will be it. It's business at the end of the day and enic will wnt to advertise to the whole world our new stadium.

I'm willing to bet that we'll play our next CL match in the new stadium whoever we draw.

12,13,19,20 Feb possible dates, because as runners up we will play the first leg at home, March dates could have been the case had we won the group, but that ship sailed a long time ago and went after the first 3 Champions League fixtures, but hey ho, up until Tuesday night earlier this week when the final whistle went in the San Siro most of us and that includes Levy and our entire staff must have thought that realistically we would more likely than not end up in the Europa League, and rated our chances as outside at best, factor in that we got through with a draw makes it even more amazing, because even as outside chances go, most of us would have predicted that Inter drawing at home with us matching that would have been outside of an outside possibility, and taking that one stage further, it was looking even more of a remote possibility than even that after going down 1-0 within the first 10 minutes. Levy surely realises that we have have grabbed a chance of getting another shot at having Champions League football in the new stadium that he must have privately thought had gone for this season, and this will give us renewed incentives for getting the job complete, if ever there needed to be. This give a possible variation of 8 days as to when this fixture will be played, could be really pivotal in the ultimate outcome as to whether this dream comes off and I suspect most of us hope that the fixture schedule is kind enough to pencil it in for the 20th February rather than the 12th February as we may end up needing those extra 8 days if events go to the wire(excuse the pun on reference to wiring)......
