I am going to a Club event tonight 6-8 p.m. to see the Tunnel Club, try out my seats (!) and have a walk through the West Stand. I'm not sure how much of the rest of the stadium we'll be allowed to visit tonight. Depends on security stewards I guess.

I got an Executive Club email last Monday saying our membership packs are ready but they're being sent out in the New Year to avoid Christmas post and 'further inconvenience'. I'm not sure why those of us going couldn't be given them tonight !? However, I've had hints to expect we may be given a bit of (verbal) advance info into the stadium situation and the planned first match and what obstacles we still face in terms of certificates. As I posted here after Inter match, I fully expect Newcastle on 2nd Feb to be first game unless something totally unpredictable happens on health & safety side. Will update tonight.

Have Spurs not heard of Royal Mail Special Delivery, your package arrives next day :)

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere in the last day or two (probably ITK?) that the club recently ran tests on the system(s) that failed and were confident the issues were resolved and they'd pass this time?
Maybe, it would certainly make sense. I'm not sure Levy would mention 7th Jan if he wasn't confident. He's basically confirming we'll announce the opening on the 7th Jan without officially doing so (to protect himself).

Also Poch said that Levy had some good news for him recently. I would not be at all surprised if he has told the likes of Poch and others close to the club that we're opening on....That would expain why letters might have been put together. He's basically telling people behind closed doors but not going officially public on it.

The information said it was "hospitality invites" therefore a select few not some people who are exactly the same as lots of other people to whom they haven't been sent, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, I also wonder why people think the poster was lying.

Just bear in mind exactly what the statement said re the 7th.
"We shall receive a status report from our contractors in the week commencing 7 January 2019 and will update you thereafter."

The way I see it. The familiarity event is 6k I think. The 2nd will be larger and then the 3rd larger still before the 4th being the opening game. So basically they're testing piece by piece and making adjustments at each step. It's like Rob building a server for this place, opening to a small number first to see how the server handles it, then slightly more and then more again. If there's issues making the little changes to handle it each time. At the 4th time he goes fully live with it so everyone can access.

Ah, good old fashioned 'volumetric testing' - how I (don't) miss those 40yrs in IT operations.

So it may be later that week or the following week. What it does mean is that it could well be ready at that point which I think JJetset was alluding too by saying the stadium will be ready in Jan. The timing of it just makes it impossible to announce the Utd game.

Went to Tunnel Club event tonight. Pix to follow this weekend.

For those who haven’t been inside, the stadium is truly awesome. No bias just because its Spurs. Simply in a league of its own. Majestic but intimate, classy but still, at heart, a proper football venue. Brought a tear to my eye. The pitch is the most beautiful green I’ve ever seen.

The Tunnel Club itself takes ‘premium’ to a different level. I won’t say more than that.

The only thing is that I formed the impression Newcastle on Feb 2nd is not a ‘slam-dunk’. It’s only going there you see how truly BIG it is and how hundreds of millions of pounds have been spent. There’s still A LOT to be done. All internal. The pitch and seats finished. It’s the parts you can’t see they’re still working like crazy on. But I was told CL round 16 mid Feb is definitely a serious deadline now, IF before isn’t possible.

More tomorrow. Too drunk and elated to continue.

Meh, I once delivered a truly epic explanation of exponential decay in charge in capacitors to a group of non-English speaking Japanese train waiting folk with an absolute tank full of beer consumed, so I find your excuse lazy at best.

Also drew air graphs to explain my argument, which were equally epic. So in short more stadium info please.

Why would we need to give more notice than 3 and half weeks? (just under 4 really) It's only Newcastle they're travelling from.

The Utd game was pushed back for that very reason because that's only a weeks notice. Personally I think it will pass on the 7th and be ready for Utd, but the short notice is not acceptable.
Doesn't it also depend on the contract we have with Wembley?
If they demand a month's notice - which seems quite reasonable, then I guess we have to wait until a month after we get the certificate, unless the club are really confident of the timings...
I guess the Wembley contract could be bought off early for a price.

The Tunnel Club is 100 seats (38 members and their guests) behind Poch and players and next to tunnel. Opposite side of tunnel is media etc.
Behind us are players family seats.
Then home changing room with the away changing room opposite.
Tunnel is massively wide. Wider than Wembley probably. Intimidating.
Floor above us are exec boxes I think.
Levy’s directors box is next floor (3rd), dead centre, with a cockerel embedded in front of where he’ll sit.
4th floor is the H Club on 4. Posher version of the Tunnel Club. More members, round tables, chefs, fancier food, wine sommelier and cheese room. More about corporate entertainment whereas everybody I’ve met from Tunnel Club seems family person, real fan, wants to be right behind the team, lucky enough to have the wad to blow on their passion.
Looking to your right from Tunnel Club the south stand looks wonderful, rising like a beast with white entrance jaws, ready to deliver a massive roar. My boys have 2 STs in the safe standing area of the South stand. Can’t wait to swap my seats (pictured above) with them for a match. That’s where my heart is.

By the way, the glass between Tunnel Club and tunnel itself is one way. So we can see players but they won’t be distracted by our ugly leering mugs !
