Is it just me that thinks the screen looks weird on the west stand being sliced off in the bottom right hand corner? I am sure there's a good reason for it way beyond my brain power but to me it just looks odd.

Reason is the stairway to the skywalk.

I've just received a message to tell me that the electricians working at the stadium have had their contracts extended until April. This does not sound very promising but hopefully it is just to complete minor works that do not impact the safety certificates if there can be such a thing?

Weren't there reports of the stadium opening with fire marshals to satisfy the fire inspectorate? In which case electrical continuing until April shouldn't preclude opening

@midoNdefoe if a player goes over that hoarding if he has had to hurdle it due to over running then hitting that slope how safe do you think that looks

@Hoopspur if you don’t like it tough and all the rest

When is hurdling the hoardings ever safe?

What is the other side of the hoardings at old trafford?

I agree you could potentially hurt yourself, but not more likely than at any other ground, slope or no slope imo.

Anything can be dangerous if you try hard enough...

No I agree. Especially when there appears so much room on the veil to move it over and have a uniform shape.

weird to you guys is dynamic to someone else, i think they did it coz they could and the designers thought it looked good... its at least interesting.

as sure as apples are apples if we had gone with a 'normal' aspect ratio someone would say 'well thats boring and does not fit with the lines of the veil...'

Oh no you did'nt

TGI FRIDAYS dude - come onnn

My childhood best friend in Iraq was from America and he would always go on about TGI Friday as if it was world class cuisine I'd be privileged to even look at. He made that dirt mud pie sound mouthwatering. This was all the way back in 2003.

Back here in the UK, I finally had TGI Fridays for the first time a few years ago. And it was honestly, without hyperbole, no joke, pas d'exagération, sincerely the worst food I have ever, ever tasted. Astonishingly horrible and criminally incompetent.

Coming from someone who grew up on London chickenchips shops, the post-invasion Iraqi restaurant scene and even once ate at the most touristy shitshop restaurant in Amsterdam Centrum, that's an extraordinary achievement for a global restaurant chain.

TGI Fridays is so bad that when one opened in Northern Iraq a few years ago to great fanfare and the presence of local politicians, it closed within 12 months.

Agree. I’ve never had a great meal in a TGI Fridays. It’s always ranged from ok to awful.

Oh don't get me wrong we all think differently on stuff. I get that people wont be sat there on the side of the road watching it for hours on end but just find it strange as no one would ever buy a TV like that!

When it first arrived from America it was fantastic. They used to do a mushroom and cheese covered steak in there that was out of this world. Then they went seriously downhill. Not sure if they were bought out. But the food was like straight from the freezer awfulness.

Thanks Lilbaz, could they not have moved it further left to have a full screen?

Probably. You'd have to ask the architects.

Not sure what they want to put on the screen, does it even need to be rectangular? We'll see i guess.

The sliced off part is fine, look at the renders. The issue is that it's not faded into the facade on the other (straight) side. Just looks so odd and stark, especially with the cut off part on the right. If they fade the left side of the screen as in the renders then it would all come together very nicely.

If as rumoured the stadium open's with fire marshals on site, the electricians will still need to complete the remaining parts of the fire alarm system.
