Wonder if the same folks who are saying “just wait until next season to open now” would be complaining that we should be in as soon as we can had the club written off the whole season in August and the pictures started floating in with a nearly complete stadium in January. “Why’d we write off a full season if we could have been in for the last 1/4!? Levy out!”

My guess is yes.

The timeline was always ambitious to say the least but as fans of course when we were sold the product we had all been waiting for we would do anything possible to be a part of it. I took out finance on my Season Ticket for the first time in 15 years of having one, as financially I wasn't in a position to pay for it all in one sum as per usual.

So whilst the refunds coming back to me are terrific, I am still paying the interest on my monthly payments for the Season Ticket which leaves me out of pocket on a product that I am not using.

Yes, it's my choice to not go to Wembley. Living in Watford, it's so much closer too but I can't drive there like I would the Lane, which makes transport costs rocket and the overall experience is piss poor anyway.

This makes a lot of sense, you have every right to be aggrieved

Even then though, surely people who bought STs had budgeted for the fact that we were going to be in the new stadium and therefore weren't expecting to get any of the money back in the first place so why it's now an issue that they're getting refunds on a game-by-game basis I don't really know. You weren't supposed to be getting anything back at all.

Because ultimately I paid for something in good faith I’m not getting. It’s like doing a deal on your dream weekend holiday cottage that you sign up for a year and pay in advance. Then a month later the company turn round and say sorry that cottage isn’t available but we’ve got one 10 miles down the road with same view of sea but it’s a bit shit but don’t worry we will refund you in 1/20 th instalments and you wonder why people might be pissed off ?

I've come to realise that the mentality behind fans, specifically season ticket holders, who like to have a bit of a moan at this sort of stadium news is just an expansion of the typical THFC supporter experience.

For example, THFC pay a lot of money to sign Vincent Janssen.

As a fan, you're excited about this investment by the club, so you go out and buy the new kit, making sure to get Janssen on the back of the shirt.

Week after week you watch the matches and anticipate the moment he scores his first goal. While Vincent shows some good build up play and looks like a good prospect, you groan as time and time again he fails to hit the back of the net.

A good bit of hold up play here and there or an occasional assist assuage your growing frustration with his lack of finishing skills, but overall the negative feeling towards the player grows. Eventually, you stop expecting anything good to happen when he's on the pitch at all and take to SC to bemoan his lack of goals.

None of this would stop you from cheering him, however, when the day finally arrives in mid-March 2019 and Vincent scores 5 goals against Arsenal in a historic match.

Now again:

THFC pay a lot of money to build a new stadium.

As a fan, you're excited about this investment by the club, so you go out and buy a season ticket.

Week after week you watch the webcams and anticipate the moment we play our first game there. While building progresses and the stadium takes shape, you groan as time and time again the deadline for moving in gets pushed back.

A bit of cashback here and there or an occasional familiarisation event assuage your growing frustration with the lack of information from the club, but overall the negative feeling towards Levy grows. Eventually, you stop expecting anything good to happen when Spurs make an announcement at all and take to SC to bemoan the lack of a timeline.

None of this would stop you from cheering Levy, however, when the day finally arrives in mid-March 2019 and we move into our new, world-class stadium.

So in April Wembley has 2 FA Cup Semi Finals on the weekend of the 6th when we play Brighton at home. Then there's the Anthony Joshua fight the week after when we're home to Huddersfield.

We can't use a 3rd venue so if we're not in by then there's a good chance we won't be able to fulfill our fixtures...

So don't think we can wait until next season even if we wanted to, otherwise we may be forfeiting games.
This got missed but is huge. Pretty much have to move in for March as that April will be a nightmare if we aren’t in the semi finals ourselves

Can't drive there?? I'm assuming what you really mean is that it's more expensive to park at Wembley because there aren't so many side roads to park in for free...

Thats not the way it works

Good News - Last nights result
Bad News - More Delays

But you're also missing the next stage of the PR cycle, which has tended to be that while everyone is focussed on taking the piss etc, we then lift a little skirt and reveal another amazing detail of the new stadium.

Suddenly the story changes from "haha, look at homeless Tottenham" to "my god, they may be homeless, but look how incredible that place looks - I'm so jealous" and all the while people keep talking about Tottenham...

Of course the delays are frustrating but there was a time when some on here would claim that even talk of a new stadium was just Levy and co selling snake oil.

Yes, they were clearly far too ambitious with the turnaround time but there is now an incredible stadium on the horizon that's going to be our home for decades to come - and is being talked about around the world.

Short term pain, long term gain. I can't wait to get in. ?

It’s not just the moving days to play but it’s the pitch surface too. Remember how bad it was for the NFL.

Yeah was pretty shocking when I actually looked at the dates.

Basically we can't play Brighton or Huddersfield at Wembley on the weekends they're scheduled for. And we can't play at any other stadium. Without having a crystal ball on other fixtures around that time it's hard to say whether they could be moved to midweek -- and even that would only apply to the Brighton game - the Huddersfield game there doesn't appear to be an obvious solution as post the Joshua fight the Wembley pitch will be absolutely fucked. And obviously the other clubs would have to agree, which they may well not do if it gives them unwanted fixture congestion.

In reality if we're not in NWHL at this time, 3-0 forfeits are a very real possibility.

Interesting use of the phrase 'calling you out' but yes that. If I was to drive to Wembley, I would either pay through the nose to park nearby or park on a side road far enough away that I may as well just get on the train from Watford, where I now live.

Problem?

The club should organise another fan familiarisation event for those who were not lucky enough to go the first time.

Would we be allowed to play “behind closed doors” ant NWHL?... not ideal but saves a 3-0 forfeit?

We won't play there this season. I called it in November, and I'm calling it again now.

This years season ticket was a stealth crowdfund. Fair enough on the refund, but that's still a tidy wedge they've had since June/July accruing interest. I'm banking mine against next seasons' ticket.

I know he looks like him but Levy isn't actually Dr Evil.
