I do understand that there were thousands of guys working but you'd think they'd be able to catch whomever was responsible after a bit of investigating.

2000+ guys on site, you can't vet them and there won't be CCTV on site internally that is. By the time this stuff is being discovered its already covered up in part and no one has checked the work beforehand, which I'm not sure I can ever recollect this kind of thing being checked before it gets covered up.

You'd think someone would have seen SOMETHING. Or some guy would have blabbed to his friends about how he was the one that did it and it's , etc, and that could be investigated.

I had thought there'd have been security cameras on site, however.

Long story short, from what I recall: DL wanted this done in such a tight timeframe that they were unable to get the normal terms that would cover such fuck-ups. Basically were told "if you want it done in this timeline you can't come back at us if there are issues."

Totally agree. I work in CRE (lending) and can't believe there wouldn't at least be a clause in there that would cover this. Not necessarily a clause about a delivery date, but something to do with a delay due to neglect/fuckery.

I understand change orders but complete fuck ups on behalf of the contractors should cost them (the contractors) money, not Tottenham.

This whole stadium mess makes no sense at all. Delays on building projects are normal but the stories on here are not really believable. Mind you most contractors I have employed in recent years to do the smallest job don't seem to have been competent and some jobs have had to have two or three others in to try to get the work done properly.
