I'll be very impressed if lowly staff, some who were about to lose their jobs were treated respectfully and were the first to know what was going on. Usually they are the last to know and read about it in the papers.

Generally I'm just suggesting we should hold back on the celebrations until we know for sure. We have been here before more than once. Or alternatively knock yourselves out again - maybe this time....
You need to let go of the idea that the stewards are minimum wage studenty types just there for a few extra quid. Some are. Some have been there for years, cover away fixtures both domestic and abroad. My contact there got me chance to meet the legends that appear in my avatar at the Finale. We had decades worth at that game and as they were all leaving so many stopped to talk to the ‘lowly staff’. Martin Jol spoke highly of them as being part of the Tottenham family, players and managers come and go but there’s a constant bunch of guys who go unnoticed yet are always there. It’s only when you know a few of them you realise how much they are part of it. Who did Spurs first officially open the turnstiles to last year?

Tottenham are increasingly optimistic that they will play in their new stadium before the end of the season — and that Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal was their final domestic fixture at Wembley this year.

The venue for Spurs’s five remaining home League matches of the season – and a potential Champions League quarter-final – remains unconfirmed but the club hopes to provide some clarity to supporters, and could even make an announcement this week.
They aim to stage two test events at their behind-schedule new stadium in late March before opening the ground against Brighton on April 7. If the Seagulls beat Millwall on March 17 to progress to the FA Cup semi-finals, Spurs could turn their attentions to Huddersfield’s visit on April 13.

It is unclear whether Uefa would allow the first game at the new ground to be a Champions League fixture, with some at the organisation thought to have misgivings about that possibility. The last-eight matches are scheduled for April 9-10 and 16-17.
Spurs face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in the second leg of their last-16 tie, protecting a 3-0 advantage from the first match.

Gonna leave it tight for Huddersfield if that’s the first one. Hopefully that’s the 2nd test event.
The 'test events' I'm sure are just a legality and the club will be 99.9% sure that they will be passed. Probably all the actual signing off in theory has been done and it would only fail if some massive cock up transpired. We would be screwed if for some reason the event actually failed, so I'm sure everything that was possible to ensure this didn't happen has happened.

The original plan was a legends game as the 2nd test event with a game for the youngsters first.

Would guess it will still be along those lines

I know our season is not exactly falling apart but getting in the new stadium could really give us the boost to finish the season strongly

My understanding is that the test events are more for everyone (stewards, staff, police, fire, and fans) getting acquainted with ingress and egress, than it is about actually testing any system. You can't have the test events until the systems themselves actually function.

I highly doubt the club will leave anything to chance.

I understood the test events to be required before we can get a safety certificate, which is required by legislation
