So when do people reckon our first game will be? As far as I can tell there is no definitive date, so I'm gonna hazard a guess...

Saturday 15th August 2015.

Any reason to doubt that? So less than 1000 days to go!

Well this is awkward

It appears today that Everton's proposed new 50,000 seater stadium has been given the green light by their local council... Will they actually beat us to a new stadium? :(

Everton FC have finally confirmed they want to build a new stadium in Walton Hall Park.

The club wants to quit its Goodison Park home to move the short distance up the road, in order to increase capacity and operate from a modern stadium that would generate more revenue.

Club chairman Bill Kenwright said: “On my journey to our home games, as I pass Walton Hall Park, I inevitably think that I am only a minute away from our beloved Goodison. For several years now I’ve also thought, if only it was available for our new stadium, it ticks all the boxes.”

Liverpool council wants to see a comprehensive regeneration of the area and believes more than 1,000 jobs could be created in the process.

The council will be involved as an official partner, along with housing association Liverpool Mutual Homes, which will build new homes as part of the overall regeneration scheme.

But city leaders insisted there would be none of the demolitions that have been a necessary part of Liverpool FC’s long-running new stadium saga, and city mayor Joe Anderson said the public would be fully consulted on their views ahead of any development.

The partners will now develop ideas for the site in collaboration with the local community. This could lead to a formal planning application being lodged in the next 12 months, following a series of community engagement and supporter engagement events. Financing for the scheme will be led by Everton Football Club with support from a number of partners.

Some of you comedians do realise the foundation piles are going in, don't you? The Emirates was finished about two-and-a-half years after the ground was broken, so unless those ****s at Archway manage to throw further spanners into the works we're looking at sometime in early 2017.

Haven't they already said it won't be ready for 2017-18?

They said it was unlikely to be ready before 2018-19. Always wise to cover your arse just in case more problems crop up—if they announced 2017 and it didn't happen for some reason just imagine the uproar.
