Tottenham have been given permission to continue playing their home matches at Wembley until their new stadium is ready - but at a reduced capacity.

Think it would be best to only report the official releases on this.
Social media is awash with people misquoting things.

We have a deal to play as many games as we need to, should be need to, currently at a reduced capacity unless we can get it increased.

Safe move.

I bet the media will still run stories that the reason for 52,000 showing up is because fans are fed up, rather that the truth of a restriction.

Thing is, again, for a stadium of the size and complexity that it is, this length of time is not unreasonable at all. What has put all the unnecessary pressures and negative media on us was the over ambitious time frame at the beginning.

I agree the length of time is reasonable but unfortunately Levy was too ambitious. For me this should have been 2 seasons at Wembley.

All this could of been avoided if we put a realistic time frame on the build. From the start THFC should of said two seasons at Wembley end of.

Yeah there is a fine line between ambitious and foolhardy. Especially for such a complicated project with so many innovative elements.

The very fact that before the initial delay we were having to sanction virtually 24hr working and huge overtime schedules with anecdotal evidence of trades getting in each other’s way/difficult working conditions etc suggests it was a bit of a rush job.

The project has suffered delays, all projects of this nature has the potential for delays.

What is frustrating is the poor communication plan for the fans.

Once we are in the place, all be forgiven and forgotten.

Like waiting for a delayed train, people are gonna moan, while they wait on the platform, once you are on the move, everything mellows out a bit.

We just want to be aboard and turning over teams in our new home, and jumping about with footballing success.

Yeah but once again the stadium was delayed initially because of the faulty wiring, it seems that the project would have been match ready if not for that issue so I can see why the club had a one year turnaround period in mind.

i think the plan was always to move in before absolutely everything was completed. The faulty wiring was a safety issue so had to delay us moving in. Many are judging by appearance but the final stages would not mean we couldn't move in, safety issues do mean that though.

I know that was the plan but realistically looking at the overall state of the external building works we could never have played there in September. Looking at some of the external work still to be completed it would be difficult to stage a game there even now for 60,000 fans.

As much as I’d love to agree, we haven’t even reached the reduced cap for our recent games... 43k against Cardiff and only 46k in Champions League against PSV :bag:

In fairness we are playing a lot of games back to back and Wembley...well let's just say for now is home from home.

That is the point though, the outside doesn't have to be completed to hold matches there.

I meant the external paving, pavements, to allow access to the stadium would never have been ready and are still not ready, for 60,000 fans to get in and out of the stadium safely.
