I can't believe that so few people knew about the problems and delays at the stadium, I was told a couple of weeks ago and there are vids going around from the guys who are working there saying the stadium will NOT be ready within the time specified by THFC.
Mates who work, and have worked, on the stadium have told me that it is far from ready, despite what is being put out to the public.
A few of them are Chelsea and Arse fans and they are lapping it up!

Will not be going back to Wembley

Horrible soulless place

Will try and get to 1 or 2 more away games before we eventually get back home

We should have signed Shaqiri - he kind of looks like a fire hydrant. Put him in the main entry - and we have fire suppression covered.

The thing is could they actually lie about “critical safety systems”. If they gave out false info surely Mace could sue them. My hunch is it’s some kind of software issue from the main controls room. I’d imagine it’s probably the most high tech control room ever in a stadium. Possibly something showed up in the test event that they didn’t expect. I just don’t believe they’d have had the first test event if they thought it wouldn’t be ready. Everybody that went to that event thought it would be ready. So it’s sounds like it’s not something obviously structural that’s the problem, but an operating system.

It wasn't a test event it was an orientation day. The first test event was to be held on the 27th.

One of the first rules of crisis comms is to be proactive and get ahead of the situation, so that you can help set the narrative and have some control over the messaging.

Agreed, but in this case I can't fault the course of actions and communication with stakeholders the club has taken.

Imagine the PL, Liverpool, or the NFL reading a a club statement about moving games before they were consulted - then asking their goodwill to help us out of a hole?

It also would have been reasonable to expect the FA to keep our business private to allow us to get our house in order, rather than leak it within hours - paragons of professionalism that they are.

Why are these shocking?

Shocking for me as I thought most of the work had been completed inside the Stadium but this is going to be our home long after everyone on here has gone so I suppose a few months won't really matter. I would rather wait now until the Stadium is actually fully completed rather than just operational. I'm not sure if any of our games would clash with an NFL game if we were to stay until next year. Its onwards & upwards and we might even break our highest attendance against Liverpool.

You have no idea when they were taken so no terms of reference ?

I’ve been critical of club re transfer window but come on - we have to just take this on the chin. It’s a few months delay on a magnificent structure.

Things do go wrong on big builds - and frequently

Apparently they where taken on Sunday!

Club would have done days of negotiations with FA and with UEFA. Unlike this, Ticketing policy is controlled by the club. All it takes is someone spelling out whats the policy (or change in policy) is.

Perhaps the issue is they don't yet know how many games they're refunding?

I agree that it's not great messaging to allow the appearance to build that a refund wouldn't be paid - I'm sure it will - but surely they want to create some sort of incentive / reward for Season Ticket holders to attend Wembley.

Or we could have 3 empty Wembley games, the team drops points maybe, and a £10m black hole in revenues on top of the construction and FA costs.

The stadium is a big place and different areas would be at different levels of completion. The nfl areas would probably be behind as they're not as urgent.
It seems that the reason for delay is due to a problem with the fire supression system so these photos are even less relevant.

Your office has probably had renovations or refurbs done that have left areas looking like the photos. Doesn't mean that in other areas people aren't typing away drinking coffee.

Lilbaz, he doesn’t mention today at all in the statement, it says recent tests etc, well the first test event was 9 days ago and the results wouldn’t have taken that long to be revealed....so this information has been sat on until leaked by the sun and tottenham’s rushed statement.

no it wasn't unless it was cancelled they were meant to hold 1 on Saturday or Sunday staff again I think, though lost track as I skipped 12 pages to catch up on the 2nd meltdown in a week

was never going to be ready - you could tell from the photos. the safety test is undoubtedly true but is maybe being used for cover. I understand the disappointment but 27 months was always ambitious to me.

I take it you have never been apart of a major construction project. That is par for the course in terms of what a project of this magnitude will look like at this point. All that will come together quite quickly.
