The Sky is the limit, it seems for Peter Crouch, and not just because he is closer to the clouds than almost every other player in the Premier League.

The 6ft 7in striker has been lined up to make his TV presenting debut on the show 'On The
Couch With Peter Crouch', and he hopes to land superstar Liam Gallagher, the former frontman of Oasis, as his first guest.

Sky TV have already made preparations for a pilot episode to be filmed while the actual broadcast is expected later his year.

A source told the Sun: 'Peter is a smart guy and takes on the role of a chat show host well. He has a long list of people who he considers heroes, in comedy, music, food, you name it.
'The idea is he will go and visit people at their homes or workplaces and chat to them in a quirky way.

It's more Ruby Wax than Michael Parkinson as it's supposed to be more of an entertainment show.

'Peter has a good command of the English language and listens well — vital ingredients for this kind of show and not something many footballers have.'

Crouch is, of course, not the first top flight footballer to make the transition into television, with Gary Lineker the most famous example. The Spurs striker is now known to an entire generation solely for his work on Match of the Day.

The Stoke striker could also look a little closer to home for advice on being in front of the cameras.

Wife, and mother of his young daughter, Abbey Clancy, has forged a reasonable career for herself having initially caught the public eye as a model.

She is a regular talking head on fashion shows and morning television, while she also starred in her own reality TV series Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best, on Living TV. She also co-hosted the reality TV show Great British Hairdresser in 2011.
