He'd be perfect for the job and they would love him up there. I'm not sure if I want him there, though.

Why is this in Spurs chat?

Shearer will be first in line, and i hope to god Jol stays well clear.

Fat Sam has gone from the Toon - Jol is a cert for the job (unless he really is keen on the Oranje job). Wonder what he'll be able to do with all that talent and, more interestingly, full control of transfers.

He'll be challenging the top 4 by the end of next season....

He won't get the Newcastle job. They will be too lazy to analyze the results he had with us in detail, which show he is top class. They won't actually take a look at the games we played under him to see he good he is. They'll just see him as the guy who got fired. Maybe if they actually take a look at the team shape, how we moved the ball, how we restricted the opposition and scored so many ourselves. Then take a clsoe look at how we conceded goals and if these were down to coaching errors or individual player error. If they did that then Jol would be a considered for the very top jobs, but like many of our fans, they won't. His reputation has been very unfairly damaged by what's gone on this season and football boards are too lazy to take a closer look.

If Jol tookover at Newcastle, i suspect they'd improve dramatically in the next 18 months. They've already got elements of the team Jol likes. i suspect he'd bring in the likes of Sebastian Larson, De Ridder and try for Carrick and Kuyt in the summer. He'd then look abroad for a couple a defenders or maybe look at Laursen form Villa. He always wanted width and play a making DM and big man little man front pairing. It wouldn't take much for him to turn them into CL possibles.

No board will have the common sense to bring in someone to give them sound advice and actually analyse indetail how suitbale a coach is to a role or why they lost their last job. It's far easier to look at CVs.

They must already have someone lined up.

Only explanation I can think of, otherwise it's utter lunacy.

See i said there's a big chance that Redknapp will come the new barcodes manager. Ever since i said it the odds have been slashed.

I thought he'd be good for Newcastle but the daft wazzock proved me wrong.

Newcastle is like flogging a dead horse. No matter how much money you put into it or who is piloting it they're doomed. The last time they actually lifted a trophy I believe was the year I was born 1969. Maybe Neil Armstrong walking on the moon put a curse on them which can only be lifted when man has walked on Mars.

Why the hell would you hire Sam Allardyce and not give him at least 2 seasons? As well as the style of play issues Joey mentioned, he has brought in a shit-load of back-room staff to work on building up players long-term fitness and getting players off the treatment table (the Barcodes biggest problem) and able to work their knackers off. That would take a season in itself.

They're 11th for Christ sake. Hardly going down, are they?

Unless of course, there is another reason that they want Big Sam out of the club...

I knew I should have stuck some cash on it when I heard. :(

In fact I would have done if gambling weren't illegal in Malaysia. Makes it trickier to pop down Ladbrokes!

They could earn £20 extra every game when they're able to sell an extra ticket in stands in that chair Sam always uses in the first half

Did anyone see/hear Jamie Redknapp's reaction to it all before the match last night?

I guarantee Harry will be their next manager.
