Newcastle are just us a few years ago. I now see why so many people laughed at us!

I'd have been gutted to have Allardyce join Spurs, so I can see where they're coming from, his brand of football at Bolton might have been effective, but it really was wank! He hasn't done that badly though and would have improved the Geordies no end given time.

Kemsley was on 5Live earlier today and was talking about this. He sounded like a passionate footy fan and made a valid point that Fat Sam was never Mike Ashley's man and he wants to see attacking football and after spending £250+ million, and who can blame him.
I always enjoy the way the Geordies fuck it up time and time again but if your going to sack him better now with over 2 weeks for the new man to sign players in. As to who that will be, who knows. Harry has said no as has Shearer. No way will
Kemsley recommend Jol to his best m8. Kemsley insisted that Ashley knows who he wants though.

Why the hell would you hire Sam Allardyce and not give him at least 2 seasons? As well as the style of play issues Joey mentioned, he has brought in a shit-load of back-room staff to work on building up players long-term fitness and getting players off the treatment table (the Barcodes biggest problem) and able to work their knackers off.

Because they are even more impatient and fickle than Spurs fans.

Following the logic of their recent appointments, there's clearly only one man for the job.

Mr Steve McClaren!

No! They're obviously getting Jose!

I laughed like a girl when I heard a Geordie fan suggest that on 606 last night. It would have been embarassing if I hadn't been in the car. On my own.

I'm licking my lips at the prospect of Shearer failing miserably. I really hate that ****.

There's no way he'll give up a cushy number with the BBC for a stress inducing day in day out / possible loss of hero status on the Tyne / never gonna do enough for the fans job at Newcastle. He's the next Andy Gray.

:) Yes please, that would be great (for every other team in the Prem).

Did you see him in the crowd at the Scum last night, with all then other FA dudes. I hope he paid for that seat.

Paul Kemsley now sticking his oar in.

Paul Kemsley, the former Tottenham vice-chairman, told BBC Radio Five Live: "People have got realise that Sam Allardyce was not Mike's choice, Mike bought the club with him already employed.

"Mike took the view that he is in the job, let's see if he can deliver what I want, which is good-quality, attacking football and to win games. I'll give him time to see if he can deliver that.
"Mike has put £250million into the club and is about to invest more, no doubt, in the window, and I suspect he wants to invest that in his own man and his own team."

There's no way Shearer could be the next Boss at Newcastle, for starters there's the massive conflict of interest... The fans love for good old Geordie attractive football and then there's their love for Shearer! And he is inexperienced, it'd be his first appointment. What if he doesn't succeed, are the fans gonna be calling for HIS head too???? Shearer wouldn't want to put the fans in that position, he knows he's inexperienced. I actually think he'd make a good manager in general. What Shearer needs to do is what Roy Keane did. Get a job with a smaller Championship side, see what he can do, see if he can get them far and then if he's achieved something, then go to Newcastle 50 appointments later. I think Jol would be up for the challenge that is the ejection seat at St. Jame's. And he'd certainly produce the sort of football the fans are after.

I think you mean Shearer wouldn't want to put himself in that position. Notice how he never commented on the speculation linking him with the job while Allardyce was still manager. He never ruled himself out and said he wasn't interested until Fat Sam was sacked. Why is this? Perhaps it's because he adores being the hero on Tyneside and loves the pathetic adulation as long as there isn't actually any responsibility involved. He's not willing to put his status on the line because he knows he'd fail and that he might lose hero status. The ****.

So they are going to have another dodgy backhand manager that wont talk to the BBC, i heard that was another reason Toon fans didnt take to Allardyce
