Now's the time for Poch and the players to show us that no new signings this summer window were required. Hoping they will prove that no additions were required. Hoping also that Kane will get his long awaited August goal for us.
I'm pretty confident that we have enough firepower to get a win here. Looking forward to this.

Seeing Pogba start for UTD last night has given me hope for Kane to start.

Dele can be truly atrocious when not sharp but would love to see a front 3/4 of Kane, Erikson, Moura & Son.

Wonder if Poch will throw in a youth player as a statement about making no signings this summer.

It’s Eriksen ffs.

I’m hoping our World Cup players are all okay to start otherwise with injuries thrown in I’m shitting it a bit, especially as Newcastle have a few new signings who may be on that early crest of a wave.

Dier Dembele should both be fine given how little they played at the World Cup. Sanchez and Eriksen went out over a week earlier then England and Belgian contingent. Son even more. Trippier Toby and Vertonghen are the only real concerns, but I think Vertonghen has a bit of Ledley about him in that he never really gets tired, so I think he’ll play.

We’ll know in just under three minutes.

Poch doesn’t seem the type to play games with ‘statement selections’ as it were. Too professional
