He's the walking definition of a super sub, what are you on about?

I think he’s scored one goal as a sub that changed a result.

Man City I think

But again, We don’t have many exceptions that could comfortably start for us from our bench options atm.

Defoe scored 23goals as a sub.

The trophy winning side have always had equal quality to come off the bench. My main point, arguments aside, is we don’t have that right now.

Utd in the Champions league final 99 the classic example

"Trying to create controversy".......Seriously? It's just a remark, it's hardly going to be talked about on the front page of every newspaper or website for weeks now is it? It's just more of the rampant paranoia some people on SC suffer from, say one thing you don't agree with and there's some sort of motive. They don't just talk bollocks sometimes, it has to be 'something'. If you seriously think he sat there and thought "oooh, I'll say something to stir up some real controversy" and then thought of THAT.......well, good luck to you in Narnia.

But I'm so sorry I gave you a doh. I prostrate myself at your feet. Give me 30 lashes and no, don't hold back. Go on, give me a 'doh' back. You know you want to...........

:D

Weird. I'm pretty certain that I'm saying exactly what you're saying, it's just that I'm pointing out how pointless it is of them to do the talking bollocks thing just to fill space, when really they could be using them time to talk about the game. I'm not suggesting motive, agendas, bias against Spurs or anything like that at all. I'm certainly not paranoid, nor complaining about the rating, just asking which bit you disagreed with.

I suppose the irony is you've interpreted my post as saying something it isn't - which is exactly what you seem to think I've done with the Sky comments themselves, which is kinda funny.

Anyhoo, moving on, nothing to see here. (y)

Was shocked at the number of times we gave the ball away today but I'll take the three points - and hopefully we'll move on onwards and upwards.

The Dembele - Dier - Sissoko midfield is truly stuff dreams are made of. Couldn't string together 3 passes in the second half. Great result and understand we have players just getting back etc.

Thought Dele looked great in a more reserved role, moved the ball well, was decisive, didn't dribble too much.

Lucas seems to be too fast for his own good sometimes.

We can't play Sissoko & Aurier on the same side of the field.

Nah, I've seen him score plenty late on as a sub, or change the game with his running. He's great impact from the bench.

But also as a starter... Mostly because he's a superb player.

I missed the game.

Can I have a quick summary? I’m assuming we were good and could have won by more but almost didn’t win at the end?

Aurier seems to be awful defensively & offer very little going forward (despite the assist for Dele) making it hard to see why we bought him. Anyone who saw a lot of him at psg able to give some hope that there is some potential for Poch to work with & he can become the long term replacement for walker?

I thought he was meant to be the new Cafu after a Poch preseason? That’s what the people who think he is a good player were saying

If we had another proper centre midfielder, I think we'd walk most games.

Trying to play out from the back into midfielders who aren't comfortable turning into space is a recipe for Lloris long balls, which often results in pressure. Game changed with Dembele on.

I get that Kane wants to start every game, but he should have been told to have the afternoon with his feet up in front of the telly (Ponyo was on Film 4 at 12.00).

Lloriente would have been no worse than Kane out there today.

Thought Dier looked pretty good for the most part as well. Think he gets over looked by most on here because of what else we lack in the midfield, he's a good player.

Kane dropped in and helped in midfield a bit, held the ball up decently well. Llorente does neither of those things.

Club with the most players at the WC semis (giving most of our best players insufficient pre-season fitness training)

Only club in Europe’s top 5 leagues not to have any incomings in the last TW.

Number of our important players nursing injuries and currently unavailable.

Despite all those setbacks, it was an excellent away result against tough opponents.

Our lack of fitness showed in the second half but we will only get stronger as the season progresses.

Sissoko was pretty decent today imo. The problem for me is Dier/Sissoko together.
Sissoko would be good in this system if we had a deep playmaker type next to him (winks maybe?)
Sissoko is just not a very good player we can all agree with that. Its sort of the opportunity cost deal here. Its what he doesn't give us that another player could, if that makes sense.
