@shelfmonkey , you don't think we will get better than that performance today?

Whether I think we will or not is irrelevant really, we have to, otherwise we're in for a rough season. Play like that against any of the big clubs and we will ripped to pieces.

Damn the transfer window has turned alot of you into miserable shits.
You'd think Newcastle thrashed us 5-1 again.

Man United, arsenal, Chelsea and the greatest team in mankind's history couldn't win at St james' last season and we just have again on the opening day when they're super up for it and we are very unfit in several cases.

Not a great spectacle at all, we had chances, so did they bit overall we were better than them as the stats confirm

When it comes to Spurs mate, I've always been a miserable shit, with the odd day off over the years.

Fucking hell, the match threads really are as bad as they say they are

It’s the first game of the season. Away. At Newcastle. The huge majority of our team were in training for 5 (FIVE) days, most of theirs didn’t even go to the WC

We could have got a couple more just after HT and as expected looked tired at the end

But we won, just like United last night. As if we are going to play like that every week.

Some of you need to sort it out

As usual people will continue to be Aurier's back but Dier gets a free pass
Not at all. Aurier is a car crash waiting to happen. He doesn’t look pleased to see the ball sometimes-rabbit in the headlight syndrome. Playing both him and Sissoko on the right each depending on each other doesn’t bode well. Diet isn’t perfect by a long way but in that instance Aurier should have easily got himself between the player and the ball. He doesn’t look after the ball well enough. However, that could be said about a few of them today; worryingly sloppy at times. Eriksen and jan vying for MOM

Having read through the last few pages I thought I would point out that today's performance was far better than last season's where we ran out 2-0 winners. Of course Newcastle were going to create chances and make us work hard, they were playing at home on the first day of the season. If we ever have the chance to do this again (it's been a while ffs!) I would expect us to do exactly that and win. However they were unable to score enough goals to win and Lloris showed why he is a world cup winner.

I think what has happened in this trasfer window has heightened people's concerns about this season and their paranoia!

I'm worried. Have we really swapped dembele for sissoko. We really need Winks back fit as our midfield looks awful unless Eroksen drops back who was very poor today.

Sissoko did a job he is an ok squad player and we won...Pochettinho also trusts him.

Did alright considering the little time we've had together. Yes there were clear lapses in the performance and periods where we took a breather during both halves of the game , but when four of them have had a few days training and the rest have had no game time in this system with these players it was ok.

Grateful it was against a poor Newcastle though. And the sooner someone can get fit enough to push Sissoko further down the pecking order the better.

Hopefully we can use this and the Fulham game to get up to speed for some much tougher tests.

I didn't see the game, I listened to radio 5 live and they hardly mentioned Dele in any way leading me to believe he had anything but a fair game but I just caught Alan Shearer on the sports report round up and he said Dele was superb the best player on the pitch and was the difference, is that how it was?

Dele was our best player, great off the ball, creative and threatening on the ball, looked as comfortable as I’ve ever seen him on the left too.

Has he got the bullet?

I know I hadn't seen him in a week or so, but I just thought he was writing one of his posts.

Yup, tried to lead a revolution against the mods.
