Shut the ITK threads, actual football is back!

We have a few injuries, Newcastle will be bang up for it on their return to the Premier League, but we still have more than enough quality in the team to start the season with three points. I'd hope for us to come out and have a good energy to our play and kick things off how we mean to go on.

We owe these Geordie ****s, let's give them a wake up call now that they're back in the big league.

No Mercy.

Match day butterflies are starting....

Fundamentally we're a much much better team that Newcastle - so we should beat them. Especially since we've shook off our aversion to playing away recently.

Our performance will tell us alot about our the squad's mentality, spirit and togetherness since Rose let off his stink bomb.

So, here's hoping we don't give them a sniff and win by 2 or 3 clear goals - and I want to see lots of smiling, hugging and kissing between the players when we score to show our team spirit is intact and healthy.

Day one was day of the underdog... Our lads always seem to struggle with the climate that far north too... I want utter ruthlessness from them, Newcastle are one team I love having put in there place.

At last, it's back. I've been up since 3.30 with an obstinate four year old who'd have given the Stones a serious run for their money at their late-night partying peak.
Nonetheless, the excitement of our first proper match day of the season fuels me onwards like a gallon of Newcastle Brown Ale rolling down the bloated midriff of a geordie faithful.

This is actually quite a big game; take three points today and Conte and his little shitters come to us potentially staring at a six point gap. And with a weakened squad. We need to do a professional job today; keep our heads, stick to our high press template and we should be fine. Just hope big Vic starts- no way do we capitulate when he's hounding things

We owe these shirt-shy horse punchers a good going over after the last time we played them, it still makes me shudder thinking back.

Rafa clearly isn't happy with their transfer dealings this summer - therefore they must even think they're weak.

We should be winning this, but we've already seen the struggle Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have had with relatively easy opening fixtures.

I honestly believe Spurs will lacerate Newcastle today. It will be similar to how we tore Leicester and Hull to shreds at the end of the season. I have no doubt Newcastle will try to.pressure us early but we will eventually pick them apart and run riot. Spurs owe them big time for that 5-1 humiliation 15 months ago and will be eager to exact a suitable revenge. 0-4 to London's Finest. 'Chelsea Rent Boys we're coming for you' bellowing out in the second half. Mark my words.

Let's do it, lads. Just remember the feeling 3 months ago, right, Leicester, The Lane The Finale, Hull - Spurs unstoppable.
Some of that, please and we are back.

We are starting the season as we left the last one with a win possibly a resounding one, but a win regardless.

Friday and yesterday showed just why the Premier League is so exciting. On weekend one everybody is equal. Huddersfield are technically top of the league at the moment!

We just have to be wary. St James is a difficult ground to go to, but especially on their first game back in the league.

Hopefully an early goal to settle any nerves, silence the crowd and play our game.
