We need to be more aggressive in every game, for too long we have been soft belly spurs, as opposition teams overpower and foul our players, and we shy away...

Well done Ryan for showing a bit of passion. Hopefully some of the others will catch on. However, I think some will never learn. Danny Rose will never break sweat trying to get back after losing the ball (a very common occurrance).

Why do we condone this?

His attitude is disgraceful. He doesn't even have the ability required to kind of ignore it.

There's a squad of coaches, headed up by a well-thought-off chief in Pochettino, as well as nutritionists, analysts and doctors who scrutinise every metre the players put in during a match.
I have to say if what you say is true from your experience of watching Rose, you should think of the better good of Spurs' future and contact our management immediately, in case they've all missed something en bloc.

Here we go. Was only a matter of time till he became the whipping boy again and the reason for Spurs ills. He has been one of our most consistant performers this season though the quality of crossing has not been good, but here ya go. I said it a month ago, some people cant wait for him to be dropped in favour of Davies (who has done nothing to warrant selection ahead of Rose). How easily Rose's good games can now be discarded.

Urgency is the word I heard on Sunday and a few Spurs players have it but most look too lethargic

Even against a very poor Villa side those stats are very impressive. Would like to see more from the rest of the midfield done to support him though.

Davies hasn't warranted a start you are right.

I think Davies is a much better left back, but Rose did start the season well and deserved his spot.

However, I do think his performances have regressed slightly.

But regardless, I don't think any of us are being unreasonable when wanting him to work his bollocks off to get back in his position.

He has been our best player consistently since his introduction to the team in my opinion.

No doubt about that, he really is the engine room and whatever we all think about the Newcastle game once Pardew figured this out at halftime we were never the same team, irrespective of their early second half goal.

I dont agree that Mason was unsporting on Benteke as said in the report. I actually though Benteke's barge on Lamela was a foul, then Lamela went back on Benteke with his own barge (should also have been a foul but if the ref didnt give the first one...) which fired Benteke up so he was trying to muscle everyone around him including Mason. When the ball had gone Mason muscled him back with the shoulder, totally understandable and happens.

Actually I thought Mason deserved a yellow card for what he did......

Could easily have been a red.
Refs often punish both parties.
Nasty, fiery and aggressive are not really what we are looking for.
Commitment, passion, spirit, effort
can all be manifested without going over the line into aggressiveness.
and that doesn't make us nice guys, losers, soft bellied or whatever.
It's not eithor/or.
Be careful what you wish for.
A lot of aggressive players sacrifice their skill in the process.
