Croatian media claim "an English club" is ready to offer Hajduk Split approx. 8m euros this January for Nikola Vlasic (18).

It's pretty vague, but they mention how Tottenham tried already in the last window and that Arsenal & West Ham are also interested.

Here's a previous link to where Spurs were interested in Vlasic (and Balic).

Hajduk's coach isn't playing him that much because he wants all players to play in both directions, but it could be it's because he is getting sold this January.

If he is not playing him because he won't do the defensive stuff, there is no chance we would be interested.

It seems that Nikola eats his sister's food portion at home (His sister is Blanka the World Class high Jumper right?) ;)
From the video this Nikola reminds me alot of Paul Gascoigne.......i can see a good player, but imho might not be suitable to play under MoPo.

Can see the similarity to gazza.

Sees the pass, plays it at the right time.

Really strong, great dribbler and good shot on him.

Surely Poch can coach him the other side of the game and work on fitness?

Lads a real talent and at 8m euros its not a risk because if it doesn't work out you'd get that back easily.

Massive upside to this sort of signing and need to target this type before they start costing £12m+.

Not sure you can really coach mentality and desire.

Oh shit, I thought this was about Andrija Balic, my bad.

Vlasic actually plays a lot and he is better at pressing (although pressing in such a weak league is never at a high standard and players lose the ball a lot easier anyway).
Mandzukic was often lazier than Berbatov when he was in Dinamo, he became one of the best forwards at pressing only when he met Magath at Wolfsburg. We have Winks and Onomah coming through academy and he is only a year older than Edwards so we don't need him for midfield roles. But he plays a lot as a striker for Hajduk and he reminds me a lot of Ayoze Perez so I wouldn't mind him here.
Balic is more like Modric and I bet Bilic will try to sign him.

Not sure where this is from (GutBucket?), but that's definitely not the case. His strength/athleticism/mentality is a STRENGTH, not a weakness by any means.

Vlasic was 17-years-old (recently turned 18) and professional athletes are/were bouncing off of him. Very strong and will only get stronger. Raised by a father who is also a great physical coach (as mentioned with his Olympian sister) and was actually Hajduk Split's youth fitness coach for a while (where they had great results). Vlasic is very strong physically with a strong head on his shoulders.

OK, I see GutBucket corrected himself. Was confused by the initial description of him.

Trust me, you can. I've seen it first hand. More so with a player as young as this one

The knock on Alen Halilovic, for example, was that he didn't defend at all (and he really didn't, in Croatia) and had a poor work ethic (during matches). That was as a 16, 17, 18-year-old. This year, many can't believe how much effort he puts in at Sporting Gijon (he's 19). It could be a lasting problem, but it doesn't have to be.

Again, that's not a problem with Vlasic at all, but just backing up your point.
