Tottenham decide not to activate Clinton N’Jie clause
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have decided not to activate a clause in their complex arrangement with Marseille that would allow them to recall Cameroonian international Clinton N’Jie, according to L’Équipe.

There was an automatic buy-clause in their loan agreement with Marseille for Clinton N’Jie last summer, which OM have had to act on, but there was also a clause that allowed THFC to take N’Jie back if they decided he was worth it which would have over-ruled Marseille’s automatic buy clause.

THFC have decided not to activate that and N’Jie will remain a Marseille player.

This is Why Levy should be leading the Brexit negotiations. We'd come out with the EU paying us for the next 40years to remain in on whatever terms we'd like.

Good news for everyone involved. Got nothing against N'Jie and hope he goes on to have a decent career, but what little we saw of him didn't suggest that he'd offer us anything that we couldn't get for free in our own academy in the first place. Hopefully we can get back some of the money we wasted on him, and also hopefully he can go and make a decent career for himself back in France.

Good bye Mr Energy!

Which is odd because I think the only other comment I made about this player went along the lines of...'Welcome Mr Energy!"

Basically we had him in a loan/trial? Explains a lot with his lack of game time.

Brexiters would still be shrieking to leave

Dat assist though

Good luck to him I guess. Back in the days when we had Ruel Fox, Andy Sinton and Matthew Etherington competing for our wing spots then he'd probably have been a more important player for us, but we've moved on now.

I'm fine with this. But what if it means they now don't want/need Sissoko?

That would be a kick in the nads.

I liked N'Jie, from what little we saw of him, I still think he could have been worth keeping but hey ho. Poch will know if he was gonna work or not by now so if he goes, then he goes.

Another player that I felt that didn't truly have enough game time to really see his qualities and do feel the criticism is unfair.

Problem is now we have set the bar high for anyone coming in and making an impact because how quick were developing and now look like a real title challenging team. So I can understand us wanting to get rid of him but I do feel he did not have any real opportunities to show his worth and same goes with GKN who I feel the inevitable will happen but hope it doesn't because I can see a good player in him.

bit of an odd signing really
Poch i think is a manager who if we buy someone and he doesnt rate him in training he doesnt really give them any chance in the matches to prove him wrong, and fair enough it has worked very well
I think thats where GK and Sissoko have been found wanting as well

Let's not beat about the bush here...in terms of signings Poch has largely been pretty shit generally.

Whether they weren't good enough to start with, or whether he doesn't give them enough time, it's clearly an area he needs to work on and N'Jie is a sign of that with N'Koudou perhaps being the same.

What we don't know is which signings Pochettino selected himself and which ones he went more on Mitchell's recommendations. Interesting I think that Mitchell 'left' quite soon after Pochettino got to work with Sissoko and N'koudou.

Very true. Probably more accurate to say we've been a bit crap in the period Poch has been manager.

Not that I particularly care if he keeps improving the existing players like he has.
