I, like others, wonder are players like N'Jie and N'Koudou getting enough of a chance but that's based on the odd outing off the bench when I see them and me wanting them to do well.

Poch is quite clear that a player signs to train and then if he performs sufficiently well with the attributes and attitude expected he will get his chance in the team. If he lets a player go after one year then he has decided in the 200 or so training days that they are not the right fit.

That is a fair bit of time for the manager and staff to assess and decide.

Part of Poch's character is that he is ruthless and that's a consistent attribute in the best Managers in history. Always strive to improve.

What we don't know is which signings Pochettino selected himself and which ones he went more on Mitchell's recommendations. Interesting I think that Mitchell 'left' quite soon after Pochettino got to work with Sissoko and N'koudou.

We also don't know which of Paul Mitchell's recommendations were acted on, and which of our signings were identified by others on the transfer committee.

Very true. Probably more accurate to say we've been a bit crap in the period Poch has been manager.

Not that I particularly care if he keeps improving the existing players like he has.

Haven't we been kind of crap with signings for like.. the last seven years or so? It's been kind of hit and miss for as long as I've been supporting Spurs since 2010, don't know how we were before that though.

Our signings are really hit and miss, we are shit at signing strikers, sign worse squad players than we already have however..,

Ali, Eriksen, Dier, verts, Toby, walker, Rose, dembele, victor, have all turned out well maybe our ability to sell on the dross and re invest works.

When you get to the level we are now at many good players are not going to look up to the job. It's a hard task when you can't buy from the elite category. The fact that we have success with those players above to me actually speaks volumes about the quality of some of our recent recruitment. Son, Victor, Toby, Ali would get in to most if not all top 6 teams.

Most teams signings are hit and miss despite what some think.

Pointless signing, waste of time and money. Nowhere near the technical ability required to play for us. Really don't get why he was even on our radar.

Think he was a Mitchell signing. His expected goals rate (one of the most predictive statistics) was ridiculous the season leading up to us buying him.

In reality it was just a six-month purple patch where Lyon managed to get the best out of him by bringing him off the bench late in matches to run at tired legs in a mediocre league. Perfect example of how stats can be misleading.
