According to the Beeb, Kaboul has picked up a groin injury, so what's the back line likely to be?

Stalteri Dawson Chimbonda Bale

Does that look right?

It's very possible - though not sure if JR rates Salty

3-5-2 or some variant, possible too?

Lee at LB?

Who knows, not me, but I trust JR :)

Depends if Chimbonda can play, but Salty or lee at RB? or Lee at LB...what about Gardner, is he still out? Hudd at the back (if he has lost a few pounds) That young Troy guy or any of the other reservs

Do you think Ramos inflicted this 'groin injury' himself?

As long as Stalteri is fit I can't imagine it being anything other than what Rez said.

How about that Dervitte fella? Is he fit, he looked strong in that one game last season

Big Tone's out until the 15th. Archibald-Henville picked up an injury for the ressies the other night. We have one functioning CB.

Let's make a virtue out of necessity and go 3-4-4!

Robbo

Chimbonda---Dawson---Lee

Lennon---Jenas---Malbranque---Bale

Defoe---Berbatov---Bent---Keane

That should be attacking enough, I think.

Hmm, 12 players, that could be an idea.

Looks about right to me Rez, I think this is what JR will go with.

Although personally, I'd like to see Lee given a go at right back.

While Salty's a bit of a cult ledge, so was Doherty. And the first season aside, Doherty wasn't very good for us. At all.

Salty is a 100% player and comes across as a true pro, but he has not been a good player for us and continues to make several mistakes or bad judgements in any game he plays. I'll still cheer him when he plays for us though.

So, in answer to your question, he will probably play that back line because everyone is unfit, but i wouldn't mind seeing Chim, Daws, Lee as a back 3, with Lennon and Bale as wing backs. Just for one game, i don't really think 352 works too well for us. I'm hoping Aalborg are tame and a 442 should be fine with Salty as RB.

Or, seeing as YPL is 4'09", maybe he could swap with Bale. Yeah, that's better.

Zokora did well at the back against the spammers. I wouldn't want to see it but it's an option at least.

Sadly we don't have any other midfielders so playing Zokora at the back would just create a new problem.
