17:46 YELLOW CARD - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham - Dawson
17:40 SUBSTITUTION - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Townsend for Rose (injured)
17:37 YELLOW CARD - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham - Vertonghen
That's Jan Vertonghen into the book for a scything tackle from behind on Gary Hooper on 30 yards out. Robert Snodgrass territory to be precise...
17:23 SUBSTITUTION - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Here he comes. Roberto Soldado is on for Paulinho and, with his first touch, the Spanish striker blazes wide after the perfect lay-off from Emmanuel Adebayor.
17:05 GOAL - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham - Robert Snodgrass
A goal which seemed inevitable the moment Nabil Bentaleb was robbed of the ball on the halfway line by Ricky van Wolfswinkel. Norwich sweep forward and Bradley Johnson slides a perfectly weighted pass through to Robert Snodgrass and the ex-Leeds man cuts inside Danny Rose before placing his shot beyond Hugo Lloris. Game on.
16:33 YELLOW CARD - Norwich 0-0 Tottenham - Dembele
There's been a lot of this today - the winger getting in behind the full-back but the ball failing to pick out its target. Nabil Bentaleb is the culprit this time. Moments later, Mousa Dembele is shown a yellow card for his over-the-top reaction to being pulled up on a foul.
16:14 SUBSTITUTION - Norwich 0-0 Tottenham
An early blow for Tottenham as Etienne Capoue succumbs to an injury he picked up in the first five minutes and is replaced by Nacer Chadli.

Tottenham will aim to bounce back from Europa League defeat when they visit Carrow Road to take on Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday (kick-off 4pm).

Tim Sherwood's side endured an arduous trip to Ukraine on Thursday night, losing their round of 32 first leg 1-0 to Dnipro in testing conditions.

While Spurs head into the game on the back of a busy period, Norwich have been resting since February 11 when they lost 2-0 to West Ham United at Upton Park.

Just one win in their last 10 Premier League outings means Norwich sit precariously in 16th, just one point above the dreaded drop zone.

As the pressure mounts on Canaries boss Chris Hughton, his main concern comes up front, with Norwich producing only four goals in their last 10 fixtures; summer signings Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Johan Elmander have managed to score a solitary goal between them in 1961 minutes of football.

There have been glimmers of promise for Norwich however, as they held free-scoring Manchester City to a goalless stalemate to earn a creditable point before losing to West Ham a week later.

Although Tottenham head into the Super Sunday showdown off the back of a Thursday night trip to Europe, Sherwood will hope to field a refreshed line-up with several key players set to return following niggles.

As attention return to domestic action, Spurs will be eager to maintain their pressure on the Premier League top four, with the North London club only three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool.

A 1-0 victory over Everton recently gave Tottenham the edge in the race for European places, while a 4-0 thumping of Newcastle further boosted their morale.

In the reverse fixture, a Gylfi Sigurdsson brace was enough to seal three points for Tottenham at White Hart Lane in September, at which time they were coached by Sherwood's predecessor, Andre Villas-Boas.

Tottenham

Tottenham head coach Sherwood was without several players for their 1-0 Europa League defeat to Dnipro on Thursday.

Most are expected to be available at Carrow Road with the likes of Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor in line to return following niggles.

However, Sandro (calf), Jermain Defoe (hamstring), Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches (both back) are all set to miss out once again.

Norwich
Norwich City manager Hughton has numerous injury concerns ahead of their Super Sundayclash against Tottenham Hotspur at Carrow Road.

Hughton will be made to sweat on the fitness of Jonas Gutierrez (calf) and Jonny Howson (back), while centre-back Ryan Bennett could return from his recent injury.

Defenders Michael Turner and Elliott Bennett remain sidelined with their respective injuries.

Norwich will make a late decision on whether Jonny Howson can play after his recent back injury.

Ryan Bennett (thigh) and Jonas Gutierrez (calf) remain out, as do Michael Turner and Elliott Bennett.

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to play despite reports he is carrying a leg injury.

He was rested against Dnipro in midweek along with Aaron Lennon, Kyle Walker and Hugo Lloris, who are all likely to be restored to the starting line-up.
preview.jpg

Norwich's main problem this season has been goals - or rather a lack of them. The Canaries have scored just 19 times in their 26 Premier League fixtures.

When I saw them at West Ham in their last fixture they couldn't take any of a number of good chances, and paid the price as the Hammers got two late goals to move three points clear of the Canaries in the table.

This time around, Norwich face a Tottenham team aiming for a top-four finish and, in Emmanuel Adebeyor, a striker who has scored twice as many Premier League goals (six) in 2014 than Norwich have managed as a team this calendar year (three).

It is a fixture that stirs the emotions for City boss Chris Hughton, having spent 13 years as a player and 14 years on the coaching staff at White Hart Lane.

Yet this week has proven to Hughton there is no place in football for sentiment. Norwich, the only side in the bottom six going into the weekend not to have changed their manager, have told him "in no uncertain terms to 'get us out of that position and keep us out'", according to chief executive David McNally.

Several pundits have said their record of one win in their last 11 in the Premier League , and just four victories in their last 20, mean the Norfolk club are heading for relegation.

I'm personally not so sure about that, but you do have to look ahead to their last four fixtures of the season - when they face Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal - and worry about their status. Time is a commodity that is in short supply for the likeable Canaries manager.

Tottenham have recorded seven wins and just one defeat in their 10 Premier League matches under Tim Sherwood.

The way they took apart Newcastle in their last match suggests that Spurs may repeat their victory over Norwich at White Hart Lane last September, when Gylfi Sigurdsson scored twice in a 2-0 win.

facts.jpg

Head-to-head

  • Tottenham are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches against Norwich (W1, D2). They won the reverse fixture 2-0 at White Hart Lane in September.
  • Norwich have not beaten Spurs in seven league matches at Carrow Road since Lee Power and Ian Crook scored in a 2-1 win in April 1991.
  • The Canaries have failed to score in five of their last seven home fixtures against Tottenham, and scored just once on the other two occasions.
  • The next goal scored by Spurs will be their 100th against Norwich in all competitions.
Norwich

  • Norwich have taken just eight points from the last available 33 (W1, D5, L5).
  • The Canaries have failed to score in six of their last 10 league games, including the last two. In total they are without a goal in 265 Premier League minutes.
  • Summer signings Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Johan Elmander have produced just one goal and six shots on target between them this season, despite playing a combined 1,961 minutes of Premier League football.
  • Chris Hughton's side have scored more than once in the league on only three occasions this season.
  • The Canaries are the only Premier League side yet to scored through a substitute.
Tottenham

  • Spurs have won 23 points since Tim Sherwood took charge of his first Premier League game on 22 December - second only to Chelsea (24).
  • They have scored in all 10 league games under Sherwood, amassing 21 goals.
  • Victory for Tottenham would equal their best points tally after 27 games of a Premier League season (53 in 2011-12).
  • Spurs have the division's best away record (29 points). They have won eight and lost just one of their last 11 away games.
  • Emmanuel Adebayor has scored eight goals from 13 shots on target in just 908 Premier League minutes, an average of a goal every 114 minutes.
  • Adebayor has scored or set up 14 goals (11 goals, three assists) in his last 17 league appearances for Tottenham.

3-1 Spurs.

Tough game but I fancy Adebayor to carry on where he left off. Brace for Ade and another for Paulinho.

Fancy them to score from a set piece, probably via Bassong!

They will give us some scares on set-pieces and breaks on the left flank, but we'll win 0-2. Goals from Adebayor and Eriksen.

I'm going for a draw, Norwich are very good at home and they seem to be our bogey team. They've held Man City to a 0-0 and United and Chelsea scraped past them at Carrow Road...

Coming up, we have Tim Sherwood's thoughts ahead of our trip to Norwich on Sunday.

Tim: "Norwich have taken some big scalps at Carrow Road and we’re fully aware of that."

Tim: "We’ve been in good away form. We need to go there in a positive frame of mind and maintain our run."

Tim: "We have to put Dnipro out of our minds, put it to bed until next week and it’s important we get the three points at Carrow Road."

Tim reports that the players who didn’t travel to Dnipro are all back in contention – Aaron, Ade, Hugo, Kyle W, Mousa & Younes #COYS

Tim also says Sandro is also making ‘good progress’. Erik and Vlad remain out.

If you're making the trip to @NorwichCityFC on Sunday, please note there's engineering works on some routes http://bit.ly/1fcXQ8r

Their defence is in pieces. Anything less than three points is unacceptable. We need to be primed and ready to attack, ruthlessness please.

Stopped City, more than ours did.

This match is no gimme. They are much tougher ATM than the last shower we played.

Meaty part of the season and nearly a fully fit squad to choose from, now is not the time for lax performances, lets build some momentum and as Tim says put that awful Dnipro game behind us.

I'm not taking about their defence in general. The injuries to their defence for our game mean they are severely weakened. Either way we need another strong start.

City absolutely bombed all of their chances, they had 15 that match. For some reason, they also crossed into the box a lot, and Bassong had a good game. If we play the ball on the ground, and work it into the box, we could do very well. We need to work fast though, as I suspect that Norwich will sit deep. Our wing work will be absolutely critical this game.

All the players that played against City are available. The likes of Turner were out then as well.

No difference unfortunately. They'll be a tough nut to crack but we're more than capable if we play like we did against Newcastle for those very impressive 60 minutes or so.

Very tight ground and not an easy place to go and play, Can't see us creating a lot tomorrow either, don't think there'll be a lot in it either way. hopefully Kaboul comes back in to partner vertonghen and we look more solid at the back and we can take any chances we do make.

At this time, any kind of win will do. If we just keep on winning, we'll be thereabouts at the end. Goal difference is so wide right now that it is almost impossible to overcome.
