"Not suited to the Premier League" - What's that all about, then?

Has nothing to with the PL being "better".

All leagues have their own attributes that are more particular to them though. La Liga is more technical and free flowing, Serie A slower and more tactical and the PL more about pace and power (even though more technical players are joining over the last 10 years). The Bundesliga is probably a bit of a mix of both the PL and La Liga.

Of course these are generalisations, but they mostly hold true imo and it's why considering wether a player is well suited to our league is one of the fundamental requirements of a recruitment team and something we've clearly been shit at in recent times.

You only need to look at Wenger and his recruitment of French players during his early years at Arsenal to see the advantage of sussing out which types of players are going to have the biggest impact on the PL at a particular point in time.

I get where people are coming from with the PL being more intense, but aren't a lot of the pressing game ideologies inspired / instigated by many coaches who originated in leagues other than ours? Clearly the pressing game and less time on the ball are characteristics of teams in other leagues too...

You also get a lot of teams that sit back in the PL and give teams time on the ball - us at home being a clear example of this.
