Just finished reading it finally. A page a night, read as a diary and it went down well. I'm not sure a repeat of style would hold up a second version though.

Nope. That's what I said as soon as I finished it. Wouldn't have worked with this campaign at all. Last season was the one where things changed. Got some interesting things in the pipeline at the moment. Some fictional and some sports related.

Ally, I love your way with words, both content and use. The book is great, but whereas I normally pick a new book up and read it from cover to cover asap. I found I overdosed on your way of writing and struggled. Then (as someone mentioned elsewhere) I decided to read a chapter at a time (max one per day) - brilliant - the magic returned, I was left looking forward to the next chapter, that has never happened before.

I look forward to your offerings on the community, although you appear to have stepped back a bit this season.

Any other books in the near future?

Cheers mate. Funnily enough that's how I envisaged Ode to Jol, as something that you read in bits. The format constricted it to that really. I like to think of it as the book you keep in the toilet to flick through a few pages in quiet moments.

I'm a bit busy at the moment, so I'm not doing as many community articles as I would like. There will be a new book out this year or next, but it'll probably be fictional rather than a sports one.

Ally. I must confess, I still haven't got round to buying it. My summers these days consist of travelling back and forth between Dover and Glasgow, with a trip to Cornwall thrown in for good measure, so as you can guess, there's a lot of time to kill on trains/coaches/planes etc. Basically, I thought of your book whilst considering potential reading material for the summer.

Question is though matey, will the book me 'out of date' now? I know that it was written after last seasons exploits.. so, what do you think?

Shame on you Chris, pull your finger out and get a copy. A book like that is timeless as it brings back memories and nostalgia of where it all began for Jol’s reign. I expect your book report to be on my desk by Monday :snooty:

(Alternatively you could just post it here)

Dougal you blonde bombshell  Good rep is coming your way for making me 'laf' again (provided It'll let me this time).

 Cheers for the help anyway. I'll make sure I own a copy ASAP.

As Dougal very kindly suggested, I hope it stands the test of time and people will still be buying it in 2009 when big Martin leads us to Champions League glory.

Is that the work of fiction you were talking about?
